This is in response to a question on Ask about how many active researchers there are on hootoo. At the moment, the headcount is still in progress and this list - of the first 500 or so - is certainly full of mistakes (please feel free to point them out). If you, or someone you know, isn't on here, then please point that out too.

'Active' means, at this stage, 'posted this year'¹ - this may be refined once I've had time to go through the list in more detail. This also means that there are plenty of names who almost certainly will pop up this year but who aren't here yet - when they show up, they'll be included. I'm also aware of various anomalies (double accounts, serial lurkers lulled into single postings and the like). The count will be adjusted accordingly - once I've added everything up - but this is just a list: there's nothing sinister involved.
