I found this site by accident while reading the article on the Pacific Glory. The reason I was reading the article was that I was on HMS ZULU at the time of that rescue mission, and it has stuck in my memory all these years.

My name is Smudger, spent most of my working life in the oil construction business. The work took me all over from the North Sea and several construction sites in the U.K. To working overseas in Russia, Turkey and Egypt.

A welder

It was upon returning from overseas that I found the industry basically closed down. So after a spell of self employment, I joined one of the emergency services. It was while I was working there that I received the injury that finished my working career.

Electrocution

So now I have more time to try and master this computer? if you ever come across me in this site, remember that you will be dealing with a Newbie (as we are affectionately called on this site) So your patience would be appreciated? I am however improving my computer skills every day due to all the help and advice given to me by many of the fellow researchers on this wonderful site. I like music from the 1960-1970, .
