Five years ago there was an election to find a virtual President to rule and govern over the many and varied peoples of this great land we know as Hootoo.

The time has come for you all to appoint a new President from amongst your number.

The big count and post poll party has already started in the Concert Room of the Flat Cap & Muffler Sports & Social Club. Get yourself over there and enjoy the fun!

In order to be considered for the role of President, you need to of course get nominated. There's just a few little ground rules:

1. Anyone on site can stand as a candidate.
2. If you're not nominating yourself, you need to make sure that the person you're nominating is alright with being put forward.
3. Presidential candidates will need a running partner.
4. In a new thread at the bottom of the page, put the name and U numbers of the candidate and running partners. A link to a campaign headquarters would be nice too if you've got one.
5. NO CAMPAIGNING HERE! That's an important one. Anyone caught campaigning will get a severe telling off, or worse... you have been warned. Besides, you've got the rest of the site to do that.
6. NO VOTING YET! Voting will be done by email at a date towards the end of October.
7. Nominations close on 23/9/2005
8. Candidates who are still lacking a running partner or an election HQ by the close of nominations will be disqualified without appeal.
9. A list of candidates will be posted as candidates come forward
