actually, it was a rather odd (but very fun) conversation, which went something like thisnames changed, of course)
jane: did you hear that, io(me!)? she just insulted you!
io: is that right? i just can't stand this anymore you hippopotomus!
mary: that hurt, deep down. you just shut up!
io: well, you can stuff an umbrella down your throat!

although very very odd

This actually happened yesterday but as nothing much ever happens to me is worthy of a mention. I txt`d a friend to tell her how much I miss her, as I sometimes do, and within a minute she rang me back to tell me she was coming up to the city that afternoon and could I meet her early evening as she wanted to buy me dinner. I spent about a nanosecond considering all the attendant problems that going could bring my way and agreed immediately. We met in Covent Garden and walked to China Town to find a Chinese restaurant. I wasn`t really hungry and the food just keep coming...but I was sitting opposite the most beautiful woman in the place- probably the most beautiful woman in town. We are just friends. I love her so very much.

I woke up without my alarm, and then had time to daydream in bed. Mmm...

Best thing that has happened to me so far today is the cottage cheese and marmite sarnies I've just scoffed. Yum!

Oh, and off to get new comics soon! Yay!

Some old memories came back...

Umm, I should clarify that really, some GOOD old memories cam back, and brought a smile to my face. Theres a whole different world back there in the past...

Nothing yet, not today, anyway.

I got my income tax refund this morning, was able to pay the stack of past-due bills that's been worrying me and still have a bit left over . I feel light now. It's a beautiful day and I'm off! YAY! I'm planning to work on my painting a bit, mess around in the garden and then take a long bike ride later this afternoon, hopefully get some good photos and drink a beer as I watch the sunset at the beach. This day is full of possibilities.

My computer was dead when I got up this morning for about 20 minutes. Then it started working

Just had a phone call from my daughter who's reached Singapore safely on her journey to Sydney, NSW. And she wore her flight socks as promised!

i got email in the account i set up special for h2g2

At 12.30 this morning, my daughter phoned from Sydney to say she'd arrived safely, survived economy class AND her baggage got there too.

My boss bought me a Flake cuz I helped out with a mailing this morning - was just doing my job!

i made a decision to not do anything today besides sit at my desk and read my book (and post a little bit on h2g2 )

it's already shaping up to be the best day of the week

My husband got an ID so I don't need to worry about him being bothered by the state for the coming year, he's happy, and we'll get some government aid.
And it's snowing outside and everything's white.

I woke up early enough that I didn't have to rush.

Reading about Mr Elly's ID - that really is wondrously good news.


And the best thing that happened to me? Having a mattress delivered for an ancient brass bed I inherited from my parents. I have been trying to get the bed fettled and fixed for over 15 years.

Being woken up by a phonecall from my Private Life, who sounds better than he did when I spoke to him this morning.

Oh, thank you
