I had a nice conversation from the very start of the day (in its literal sense) to the present minute.

I surprised two people with bunches of flowers. Neither of them were expecting them and they were both very pleased when the delivery man turned up.(Although neither was a random act of giving.)
The best thing was the phonecalls I recieved - they were both clearly very chuffed that I had thought of them. So I made two people very happy (the chocolates might have helped too!)THAT is what was good about today.

A wasp flew through the window at work. I had a good vantage point. I watched it fly round the office and saw how different people react to it. Some reach for a paper or magazine, some jump up, some sit there paralysed with fear, some sit there and play it cool, while one opened a window and ushered it out with a newspaper. Free entertainment
BTW the "it won't hurt you unless you hurt it" school is wrong. Every time I've been stung by a wasp I've been minding my own business.

i've spent the day intermittently contemplating the endless possibilities of destinations for my pending vacation time
and while i was tempted to request spot moderation for il viaggiatore's post, in the end i decided that if that's really the *best* thing to happen to him *all day* long, it might be cruel to take it away from him.
