Y'all woke this thread up on a truly glorious day.
This afternoon I lazed in the sun in my bikiniwith a photo of my beloved beside me (thinking warm thoughts towards him while he's up on his mountain in coooold country) while reading Tom Robbins and giggling aloud and drinking frosty beers and listening to the flock of wild parrots screeching in the palms. And now I've got 80's dance music blasting and I'm ready to paint til my fingers are blue through. Woooohooooo!

Getting a truly solid nights' sleep, waking up naturally and finding the sun out in full force into my window, making my crystal's rainbows dance.

Ditto.
And VIP- I couldn't agree more with everything you wrote about clubs. Good to know I'm not alone.

Being reminded that valentines is looming *before* getting to the 'I did get you a card and present but I have left them in my other jacket/desk at work/car/etc' moment.

The snow in Sweden. Actually I am lying about that, but it was pretty damn good all the same.
I went to visit a friend who has a farm-house north of Stockholm, and had a wonderful weekend, cold and beautiful and remote.

Hmm, Can't remember hte last time I woke up next to someone ahh, yes, that time on the train but I guess that doesn't count Hmm, Best thing, today, tricky, dinner tonight I cooked was nice, but not as supurb as it mighten have been Ahh, spending £20 on taxi's and realising that although it would normally seem a fair bit of taxi fare, it doesn't bother me in the slightest, however much it cost

Having a surprise early closing at school and therefore getting extra time to talk to the friends that I never see, even though we go to the same school. (It's a very large one)
And preparing my bits of random trivia for Valentine's Day. I get all excited when it's coming, because I truly hate the holiday and I love the reactions I get when I say these things. (This will stay cute and fluffy with me for the next week or so) Example: St. Valentine, after whom the date was named, was stoned to death in 270 AD

Well, I guess it's a repeating best thing- waking up next to my warm, pretty husband, though then comes the sad part- going to work. But today it was extra nice 'coz I had the sun flowing from the window onto me, in the bed.

Doing some honest-to-goodness consultancy after 3 and a half months' distraction. Sad to say it, but I do like processes, and these ones will work.

Consultancy is a wonderful thing, especially when you're planning a Great Adventure.
Today I had a bizarre string of events that felt really good. I finally figured out exactly what I want to do for my man when he arrives on Valentine's Day, and it's affordable and I think he'll love it. All I need is for this stretch of weather to hold out for me, so everyone please wish a balmy evening on the 14th to south Florida for me, ok?
Anyway, I decided to take out a small payroll advance at one of those check cashing places so I could be prepared properly, and since the clerk didn't hear me properly when I gave her both my work and home phone numbers, it took a while. I told her what I was up to and she and I were laughing about it. It took so long that I guess the guy at the window next to me took pity on me. Maybe he thought I wouldn't qualify or something, I dunno. Out of the blue he offered me $100! Told me that God had been very good to him and that he was getting checks every day and that he liked to share with people. Very strange, because he wasn't trying to pick up on me or anything. Best I could figure, he was totally serious and just being kind. I thanked him and declined, and I told him I wasn't in distress, just trying to facilitate a surprise for someone and I'd prefer he'd help someone out who needed it a bit more than I do right now.
What a nice thing to have happen, though. Sometimes it feels like almost everyone is only looking out for themselves, and that man added the cherry to the top of my Valentine-planning happiness. I'm not naive enough to think that he *couldn't* have had ulterior motives, but it didn't feel like it, and it reminded me of how important random acts of kindness can be. It's not about the money; people can help each other out in all sorts of ways. What a lovely Valentine that man gave me! I needed a reminder of that nature and I'm gonna pay it forward.

That IS a lovely thing to happen - and paying good things forward, or sideways, or diagonally, is the best way of paying them back.
Have a lovely Valentine MoG. I want to know all about your special man sometime soon.
