totaly agree with you on this, its so much easier to try and inject a little humour into a convo, when people are being grim and serious in a written form it seems so much too grim and needs a bit of levity to make it a bit more interesting

Look, perplexingApollonia (and if you weren't admitting that you aren't always clear, why call yourself perplexing?) and Garden_Pilgrim (if, indeed, you are 2 separate entities) if we're so boring and worthless, no one is forcing you to stay here. You can leave anytime you'd like (and, no, I'm not asking you to--it's your decision), though your accounts will always be available for you to return (assuming that neither of you breaks the House Rules to the extent that you get banned, or that neither account is being run by a previously banned person).
Just don't expect to be deified for disappearing

amy i think that was the wrong move
the pig headed tend to stay when asked to leave
i think mass of any thread they join would have been a more effective tactic

Who's to say my post wasn't just buildup for the last line?
But seriously, I know you're right, Taff It's just that I've mostly managed to avoid such goings-on for the last 8+ years

Plus, I'm *not* going to be chased out of a conversation by anyone (though, admittedly, I didn't have to join in here)

is it me or are there more 'nutters' showing up week after week,
spouting drivel, upsetting people and driving them off, them slowly dissapearing themselves?????
leaving the community in a more sorry and weakend state
or am i being paranoid??

I don't know--then again, I only stop by Ask when I've nothing else to do, and drop in on interesting looking titles--I'm not subscribed. Or to ask something, but those usually don't even last for a whole LED, and almost never get topic drift--I guess I'm too boring

I'll be unsubbing after this, but I'd like to point out that using wikipedia as your 'proof' of anything is pretty ridiculous. Wikipedia is NOT a valid source of proven information. Anyone and everyone can edit it, and the vast majority of its information is dubious, if not flat out wrong (of course, there are exceptions.)
Case in point? Diogenes did not walk the dead fish himself like a dog on a leash. Instead, a young man who wished to study with him was given the ask of carrying a dead fish in front of his fellow Athenians. The young man was embarrassed, and dropped the fish, at which point Diogenes dropped him.
Now, garden pilgrim/perplexing Apollonia, I bid you adieu.

Watch the kids ventilating their fake importance and intimacy phobia hidden behind pixel lovydovy attitudes,in their desperate attention need vomited over the page carpet and sings the old Beatles song..:"within you without you."

Like ~jwf~ I think I grasped very early what complexity phobia could mean right away, and...???
I haven't been enlightened and/or enriched neither by pA nor G_P. No arguments, no interesting points of views to provoke a different way of thinking.
All I got out of their words is that aP is superior in any way possible (and peace be with that) and anybody with other ways of expressing themselves and/or with other opinions and/or with other suggestions for lines to follow are middle class, stupid and mobbing their superior.
Other researchers' questions and inputs have not been either read, understood, contemplated or accepted on equal terms - as they have not been answered or commented.
So why invite people to a discussion when you don't need other peoples opinion? Why not, aP, when you are not interested in other peoples opinions and sentiments, not just write an article that states your thoughts and publish it?
I find that you both, pA and G_P, do not know that in all communication it is the receiver of communication who decides what is communicated. So in order to make other people see your points or engage them in a discussion, you have to communicate 'something' in an intelligble way and not just pour buzzwords and garbage over their heads.
So summa summarum: aP is superior to each and everyone, and...?
I move on to engage with people who wants to talk with me.

Stop taking swings at people. It seems complexity-phobic, to tell the truth.
