Who's that? Haven't seen them since just after high school. For a woman your apparent age, you really sound like a very young person. I won't say how young.

Just finished reading the last few days' posts. Think I'm gonna give up on this thread now cos I get the feeling that, although Apollina may have some valid points about depth of converstion, I'm afraid I just don't understand what the ballyhoo she's on about most of the time. I personally feel she's found a dictionary and is determined to shove all of the long words into her postings. You seem desparate to argue with people, Apollina- and that makes me sad. You validate your arguments simply because other postees don't really know what your point is.
As for your views on other countries, I have a bit of useful advice that will help you in intimate socialising, and understanding the world at large... DON'T TAR EVERYONE WITH THE SAME BRUSH. Bye for now. Other postees- Good Luck.

Doh, you've all been having fun while I've been away. It's not an elephant in the room, it's an Empress, and the poor darling has no clothes.
In the meantime, let me reprise a blast from the past, Kea's comment about stuff missing from posts reminded me of this.

And you remember the fuss that kicked up the last time someone posted it?
Hardly the most sensible thing ever dragged up from the past of this site

Mrs Zen Posted Sep 24, 2009
Mmmmm.
I think the interesting thing though is the difference in the reaction then and now. It seems we recognise the pattern and react with less wide-eyed naivete. It may help that some of the more robust argufiers are no longer around.
I guess we're older, wiser, more cynical, less easily awestruck. We've had this particular chain yanked before, we know what it feels like.
I was struck by the similarities, but struck by the differences too.

Context is everything... Now it's ancient history, albeit offensive to those involved, back then it was a calculated insult.

Indeed. As Sam Goldwyn said, "We've all passed a lot of water since then".

Oo ya... I can still feel the bruising.
But I thank Mrs Zen for the memories.
I'd never encountered a guilt-ridden killer
with post-traumatic stress disorder before.
She had three successful identities going at
one time, and one of them was quite sweet and
poetic and betrayed a lot of people when it all
came out in the wash. It was 'her man', also an
experienced military assassin dealing with ass't
addictions, who finally put us all straight and gave
the mods reason to just ban her instead of struggling
to decipher the codes she had been well trained to use.

Wow, that's incredible. And incredibly obscure!
How in the whirled did you find that.
Are you with MI5 or summat?
Or is it MI6 by now?

I'd tell you, ~jwf~, but then I'd have to kill you.
Actually, I googled "complexity phobia". It was the third hit. Easy peasy.

PS:
And if you say you just googled keywords from aP's ass't rants and came up with it there on another blog I'll get really paranoid and never post anything, anywhere, ever again. Egads, my whole life is hanging out there in cyberspace if someone wanted to put it all together.

<<Kea's comment about stuff missing from posts reminded me of this.<<
I didn´t like Kea´s comment nor other similar ones I´ve read more than once in other threads.
Any of us could have acted like him used to, she has left here enough material to give answers in an ironic and insulting way, but the farthest we went was to use gibberish. Maybe mine and one of Captain may have been "too funny" but not insulting nor bullying. I think we can agree on that.
Last time I read a post of him was in the MOT thread, and my idea of him changed, fortunately. I found him kind, mature and... humble.
Maybe it´s time to let him rest from that role that brought him no good, nor to the rest.
I´ve had two "passionate" encounters with him. One per year, the first one, in the Dawkins´ hurt me. I was too vulnerable those days.
I have no doubt of his brillancy in many aspects, but after he left, I found a few "shrines of devotion" missing his churlish manners.
I´m not sure whether he wants to be missed that way.

Mariella, are you talking about Kea (who's a female from New Zealand) or about Hoovooloo / Son of Roj Blake / SoRB (who's a bloke from the UK) or someone else entirely?
Life is definitely calmer without SoRB, but duller as well. Kea's always struck me as thoughtful, passionate and compassionate.

Which post of Kea's is being discussed? On post 132, she said 'yep' and unsubcribed.
Maybe I missed a post....
Not that it matters than much to newbies such as myself but it would be nice (I'm nosey) to have a little historical perspective.
Somebody posted 'hidden' threats and was banned: is that it?
Mind the gap
Mrs Zen Posted Sep 25, 2009
I think there's some confusion here.
Kea commented that pA is perplexing because she misses stuff out:
F19585?thread=6939386&skip=100&show=10#p86112669
That comment of Kea's reminded me of the rebus left by a researcher who was on the site for 6 weeks in 2001 and who was then banned for life. It's that rebus that I've reposted here, and Whisky rightly chided me for it. I posted it because it's not just the gaps in the posts that echo: pA reminds me of that researcher too to some extent. Both are intelligent, both angry and critical of other people, both as self-referential as a gyroscope. Interactions with both, therefore, are superficially attractive but ultimately sterile.
195 by Mariella Magerit makes no sense to me because I don't know who Mariella means by 'he' and 'him' or 'she', but I'd like to understand it.
Does that help, oh hirsute one?
Mind the gap
Not-so-bald-eagle Posted Sep 25, 2009
Hirsute one ! It sounds so nice.... I worried about a nasal inclination reference.
It certainly clears up a lot for me. Btw: It's very clever being able to pinpoint a single post like that. I'd like to know how to do it .....
Key: Complain about this post
