No matter how often I refresh my conversations list, it still tells me that I have "-3 New Posts" in the top convo on the list.
I vaguely remember something like this happening before. What is going on?
I'm off to test it in the other skins now, but does anyone else have this?

Sorry TC - there is a bug that has appeared since there were some timeout errors 5 days ago...
The Tech Team are working on it

Of course, I couldn't see that you had replied because my convo list says "No new posts".

No tech news yet, sorry.
One slightly helpful thing we discovered is: if you unsubscribe from a thread, then resubscribe, it moves the conversation up in your convo list.

Oh yes - thanks! That does work. Let's see if it reverts to the minus numbering system when new posts are added.

If I'm not mistooken, this is a bug almost as old as hootoo itself. Or some variation of it. I distinctly remember it happening back in the golden ages of the site. Maybe even Beeb times or earlier. Sorry no idea of the cause- though with hypnotic regression I might- I remember the cause being discussed at the time so if I can just go back in time...

Actooly- something is coming back to me without the aid of hypnotism- it only happens in threads you have posted in. This one for example showed -1 new posts before I started this reponse. After I have posted this, it'll probably show -2 new posts. To other users it'll probably just show 2 new posts as normal. Probably admin types know this but just posting it in the offchance they don't.

Yup. It now shows -2 new posts (well after this it'll be -3). So as a totally non-codey, non programmer type it seems to me that it's a relatively simple arithmetical typo in some code somewhere, whereby it's subtracting post numbers for a user who posts, instead of adding. Or something
