Do guys prefer curvy girls or no curves?
Mrs Zen Posted Apr 25, 2005
I had an epiphany in a sex shop.
No... don't go.... hang on a moment!
I'd always known that gay men control the fashion industry, and that gay men don't fancy women, what I hadn't realised is that women's bodies can in fact really gross gay men out.
So, it was like this. There I was, in this sex shop, with my stepson, a gay man and a transsexual ... (this sounds like the start of a rather dodgy joke, isn't it?) ... when the gay man said "oh my god, can't we go? If I have to look at female breasts much longer I'll start feeling ill".
Now I knew that he wouldn't ever fancy me, but I had that lodged in the same category as, say, my brother not fancying me. I hadn't realised that my body, and all bodies like it, was actually repugnant to him.
He's my friend. I am very fond of him. He is intelligent, witty, clever, and fun. he's good to hang out with, and I'd ask his advice if I needed it.
But...
... the thought of the fashion industry which dictates what I can buy and what I look good in being run by people with the same reaction who aren't good peeps but shallow, bitchy and insecure coke-heads makes my blood run cold.
Me? I am curvy, but I still feel lumpen sometimes.
Ben

I know you said you never get embarrased but still, going to sex shops with your step son?
Well, human bodies are weird. That's why we have sexual attraction, because otherwise there's no way we would be doing _that_ with each other.

I have a similar problem to sighing, I have a big belly and if I find clothes to fit my belly, then they are too big for my waist. I find elastic waists works best but apparently they are a big fashion no-no! Sod fashion I just want to stick my curves in something that fits!
The sex shop breast story reminded me of someone on POV, he said that breasts should be in bras, if a women didn't wear a bra it was because she had low self-esteem. Basically he was down on Charlie Dimmock, I recommended he watched the programme and not just her breasts but he just wanted to complain about breasts which were roaming free of bras!

Charlie Dimmock is braless because she says it's more comfortable that way when doing manual work. However, I'm sceptical about this because, now that AT has left the show, she is seldom - if ever - bra-free. Almost a waste of time watching now!

"he just wanted to complain about breasts which were roaming free of bras"
How can ANY self-respecting male complain about wild breasts!

It did take me a little outside my comfort zone, Xan, but boundaries are made to be pushed. He was 20, and had asked me where he could buy porn, so it was obviously not outside his. He *likes* the pictures of wild breasts, and got very bored in the gay sex shop we were taken to afterwards.

speaking from a very large chested girlie..32/34HH.. i certainly wouldn't have them roaming free..I think i would blind everyone around me,one quick swing to the left would probably end up me getting sued for giving someone whiplash
and curvy size 14,with a bit of a tum,due to cecarian-birth &scar, and botched up job that was.

Down boy!!!
Do you have some kind of magnet BigAl, you always find these types of threads.
>"he said that breasts should be in bras, if a women didn't wear a bra it was because she had low self-esteem."
My answer to that would be, that it takes a lot self-confidence to go bra-less. Particularly during in the summer, when you're only covered by a light-weight t-shirt.

<< when the gay man said "oh my god, can't we go? If I have to look at female breasts much longer I'll start feeling ill".>>
Yep, it's true. My gay friend feels sick at the thought of female genitalia and wouldn't go near breasts. His best female friend is skinny with very small breasts. make your own mind up on that one.

Maybe it is a psychological denial reaction to a repressed feeling of heterosexuality they have.
By feeling physically repulsed by boobies and the front bottom *how* could they be straight.

I'll go with Dimmock's assertion that manual work is more comfortable bra-free. I've just spent the weekend building a rockery, so digging, moving slabs, moving rocks, shovelling earth, and I was comfortable bra-less.

Could be...who knows?
Maybe they're trying to cling on to their own pigeon hole (stereotype), so to speak.
(Not put very well, I know)

I myself have big breast and big hips and my waist isnt that big. though i have somne flab so i tend to not wear things which show the curves that often. I dont care what fashion says i like my curves and they are part of me.
i will be wearing a ball gown this friday which will show off all my curves

I'll put my hand up (ooerrr)and vote for the curved figure if I may to anwser the original question.
On the comment that Ben made about her gay friend feeling sick at the site of female bits and pieces, a close lesbian friend mentioned feeling exactly the same when it came to male bits and bobs, and in fact in her opinion the majority of lesbians would be the same.
Having said that I can't blame her, not the most attractive things at the best of times, who ever was designing the male body was having a laugh and using up the left over bits as Billy Connolly said.
