Look at the Bridget Jones movie. So many guys I knew were like 'Oh my god, she's a cow now!!' For gods sake, she only put on like, what, 20lbs?? Meanwhile, I sat there thinking 'Jesus I wish I looked like that'

American size 4 isn't the same as UK size 4, though. I think a USA 10 is about a UK 14, so workk it out from that
Here in Europe it's a nightmare - aside from having to convert into 38-40 etc, a Belgian 38 is different to a French one, which is different to a Spanish one, and an Italian one....
I just grab something that looks like it'll fit me and try it on.

Let's just pretend that I have no idea what skinny-mimmy might mean, or what exactly constitutes curvey. (Ok, I don't need to pretend... that's how it is.)
So, what referrences are there?
Are we talking about Kate Moss vs Kathy Bates? Kylie Minogue vs Kelly Osbourne?
Well, if you phrase the original question as, "Of any perfect stranger, which would cause you to turn your head to look at her?" I would fall for the Kylie Minogue type rather than the Kelly Osbourne type. If the original question is aimed at something more committed, curvyness is only one aspect, of course, and not the decisive one. Considering my history, though, I find that my exes were all in the non-Kathy Bates category...

well as a personal preferance I would say curvy, tho there are pros for all figures. Many people many different opinions and likes and dislikes, ones man curvy is anothers obese or down right skinny. I like the hour glass shape and preferably a woman with a little bit of a stomach, not a hangy over gut but a nice little paunch. (sp?)
Anyway thats just my 2c, tho beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder

I think the same question should be asked about men.
Do women prefer big men or skinny men?
I think there is now been equal pressure but on both sexes as to what is the 'norm'.

I seem to be the exception here, as I am not really into the curvy figure. sleek and slender has always been my preference.
Although there is nothing wrong with the fuller figure, it isn't for me.
As for male physique, I am a 38" chest, 32/34" waist and 32" leg, that probably fits the slim design, although my 28" waist of 12 years ago would be preferred. Shoulders would be nice too, if only to carry a shoulder bag.

I spent years trying to work out what my ideal woman looks like, to no avail. The only preferenece I have figure-wise is for the right proportions. Curves look great on some women, so long as the curves are in the right relative proportions, and slim or petite is fine too.

As far as whether or not women like larger guys, well people always say something there, too.
I think Kevin James (from The King of Queens and Hitch) is absolutely adorable and they ask me just *how* can I possibly think he's attractive given that he's a bit chubby. He's funny as hell for a start.
I've had BF's who were absolute twigs and BF's that were DEF chubby (and I don't mean just a bit of paunch), never made me no nevermind.
What put me off all 3 of them was that they were bloody morons lol
But people always said Ewwww what did you see in him (the big lad)??
I liked him, that's what.

You are sooo right, that really IS ll that counts, isn't it ?

Yelbakk Posted Apr 22, 2005
Well, yes. Liking someone IS all that counts; but looks do play a part in liking or not liking - at least to an extent. I am certain that you will find very very few cases where a woman/man says about her/his partner: "Urrrgh, he/she is HIDEOUS. Totally ugly. Just thinking about looking at him/her makes me wanna throw up..."
Although, now that I think about it, I am not certain whether you like people who are somewhat good-looking (according to whatever criterion), or whether you find people somewhat good-looking because you like them?
