Nyyarrrggggg! Over 90% of householders in the uk (and I gues many other countries too) own a television and hence have exposure to the media. The prevalence rate of anorexia nervosa is around 0.01 (ie. 1 in 100). If the media CAUSED anorexia nervosa the prevalence rate would approach that of TV ownership.

Point taken, Blathers (in your post 108) that curves do indeed exist in muscles and bones. However, I would hazard a guess that when men talk about enjoying a woman's curves they are usually talking about breasts, rounded hips and bottoms, where women normally have extra deposits of body fat.
I have a hard time imagining a bunch of construction workers whistling and going - 'wow, check out the distinct tricep curves on that one!'

Hold your arms out to the side at shoulder height, if you have a wobbly bit where your triceps are then you have bingo wings.
You climb a lot don't you Kerr? You may have escaped this particular curse.
Me? I never wave at anyone in real life anymore

Curvy girls or no curves?
Well I am attracted to curves always have been...or what most guys I know call "I like a girl with a little meat on her bones"...clearly I don't hang out with many eloquent people (mainly cus I am not very eloquent myself ) My last two girlfriends where really weird about there bodies...like no don't touch me there (get your mind out of the gutter for one min), I have fat there...this made no sense to me...but I just added that to my list of things they would say that made no sense to me...My point being if I am with you and we are snuggling or what not then it should be clear to you that whatever you think your imperfections are either I don’t see or I like em just as much as the rest of you
oh and
Well my theory has always been...if your a really skinny guy you need a larger woman...if your a really skinny woman then you need a bigger guy...cus you can't have two skinny people together...just think of all the bone bruises...and heck that would be like rubbing two sticks together...you might start a forest fire"

Hmmm, but skinny and chubby might not be all that physically compatible either. Not in my experience anyway.
I doubt men's ideal female body is the same as the average woman's body. I think a part of beauty is rarity. But I think the bodies they do find sexy exists, as opposed to supermodels who only exists in some strange parallel dimension. I for one found those Dove women quite attractive.

Yes, but he also thinks that a 48 point articulater Spiderman toy is beautifully built as well.
But then so do I (looks over shoulder at his standing on a picture frame still failing to hit the door frame opposite with its Spidey web) so what do I know!).

On the topic of men and muscular women, I'm the guy who said he liked women who looked healthy, after waxing lyrical about calves and quads. An athletic body is the pinnacle of health, and to me, the pinnacle of eroticism. Just so long as she doesn't look like a transvestite, that is. If a woman is so muscular I feel the need to check for an Adam's apple, it's probably overdone.
Sarah Conner in The Terminator was an unremarkable stick chick. Sarah Conner in T2 was sexy as hell.
When I first met my wife she was a curvy woman, carrying a little extra junk in the trunk. She looked great. Then she got into a fitness craze, lost the extra weight and built some serious muscle tone. She had that aerobics instructor body. She just gave birth a few months ago, but she's already damned near all the way back into that aerobics instructor body. And I am a lucky bastard.

I just like women. I like slim women and curvy women, and all points in between. As long as I enjoy their company I'm not really worried. With selection criteria like that, you'd think I would have loads of women, but for some reason this isn't the case. I still can't work that one out.....
One last point to all the gentlemen reading this. If a woman ever asks you this in real life, distract their attention to the other side of the room and while they are looking away, run as fast and far as you can. There is no right answer to this question. EVERY POSSIBLE ANSWER IS WRONG! THEY MAY LOOK AND SOUND LIKE THEY ARE BEING REASONABLE, BUT YOUR ANSWER WILL BE REMEMBERED AND USED AGAINST YOU AT A LATER DATE!

I'm not threatened by muscular women - I just generally don't find them attractive. I have a particular distaste for boney shoulders . Why, when someone doesn't personally like a trait, is it automatically because they're "threatened by it"? Never understood that one....
And Serephina, I would take 'snuggly' as a compliment. Indeed, I have given and received it as one in the past

I agree entirely. People are either attracted to a particular shape or not.It is instant and uncontollable. There isn't any concious thought processing going on like;
"Damn, i was just about be turned on by that muscular chick over there, but thinking about it now, she might beat me in an arm wrestling contest.. hmm, I feel threatened, better not find her attractive"
I'm sure nobody can really describe the reasons for, or explain the truly vast range of people *and* objects or actions human beings can find attractive, or which people are going to turn a person on. Yes, you can have a type- but why is that your type?
From my readings of 'New scientist' over the years, it does seem as though no-one has found an answer, just lots of theories.
It reminds me of that old phrase that is always trotted out every time a peadophile act makes it into the news. "It's all about power". Well the abuser may well enjoy his/her ability to control someone weaker than him/her self on some level, but i would bet that the primary reason, probably 90% of the reason he/she abuses a child, is simply that he/she is attracted to children- that simple! If it was just about power- all paedophiles would be equaly liable to abuse disabled, old and ill people. Whereas we tend to find that abusers specifically attack one kind of person.
Bye the way, I doubt there is a an object, machine, or animal in existance, that someone, somewhere, doesn't find sexually arousing. Just type in fetish into google, set aside a day or 2 and follow the links if you don't believe me- there are websites for every conceivable kind of sexual desire out there. Me, I've only ever set aside an hour or two, but I got the general idea
Sorry, I seem to have gone extemely off-topic, Verbal dioreah and all that.... now where was I...
Oh, yes- I prefer curvy every time
