As devotee's of this thread will know I have slowly been outing various members of the Red Dog clan (Mrs Red Dog taking the brunt of it I might add) and now it's the turn of my sibling .... lets call him Bald Dog shall we .

Bald Dog was a London Policeman and has just gone through a divorce having married very early in life. At the age of 40 Bald Dog has quit his job and has gone off round the world doing all the things he should have done in his teens and 20's.

One of the things Bald Dog has done is have his ear pierced which has upset my father a great deal and truely looks more than a little ridiculous on him. Any how, he arrives in Australia to visit us and we take him around Perth and arrange for him to visit Melbourne and stay with some of our friends there.

Bald-Dog arrives in Melbourne and one of the first things my friend says to him is "I thought you were married ? How long have you been gay then ?".

Turns out that he's had his right ear pierced which (in Australia certainly) signifies that you are gay and available ! The ear ring came straight out and hasn't been worn since.

My dad's pierced his right ear too. Someone at work offered to PAY him to get it off. He never did.

Not the MOST embarrassing thing but .....

I recently went to the gala (galah?? ) opening of a new theatre - it was by invitation only and the ticket was a gift in appreciation of some volunteer work that I had done (big favour) - I took my young niece with me - the guest of honour was Mel Gibson.

Niece desperately wanted a pic of Mel to show at school (she's 14 BTW) - so as he arrived I imposed myself at the front of the crowd and lined up a really great shot. Mel kindly stopped for a second and I pressed the button - nothing happened - tried again - nothing - third time - still nothing ... embarassed??? You betcha!! Mel was moved on by the official party and I cringed.

Luckily I managed later to get one shot for my niece later - but I am offering odds on Mel being unrecognisable - not my day.

Poor thing...

...just trying to think of something embrrasing thats not too embarrasing to tell you!..lol

Imagine you are 16, it's your very first job interview,

On entering the office of the Head of Personnel, your caught by a beam of bright sunlight which causes a violent and uncontrolably powerfull urge to sneeze.

It is not humanly possible to beat that sneeze to the draw with your handkerchief and so you are unable to conceal from the interviewer the copius volume of fluid elastic, some feet long, that emerges from both nostrils.

You recover as gracefully as you can with your handkerchief and wish for floor to open and swallow you whole.

42 years on, it haunts me still.
