no you can't. if i have a H on my head i could either be a ghost or a soft light hologram. how about, you turn off the power in the ship, and while you suffocate from the environmental systems being off you see if i'm switched off meaning i'm hooked into Holly, or i don't meaning i'm a ghost.

ahh, but that is not so. remember when rimmer had his personality with Kachanski's image, or when he ended up with peterson's arm? this shows that holographic appearance can be altered!
