aww! Glad to hear it!
Yesterday I was offered a place on a Spanish course run by our local town council. My Spanish is truly dreadful, so this was my yesterday's 'Best Thing'.

Yesterday my bestest friend and I climbed Crib Goch and Garnedd Ugain.
You know how some adrenaline junkies like to strap on a small paraglider and fly low and fast down the side of a mountain, hugging the terrain? Well, yesterday it was way to windy for mere humans such as myself to indulge in such foolishness.
That didn't stop the gulls, however. I only got my camera out in time to catch the last couple, but there were a big gang of them clearly relishing the conditions, and very clearly enjoying the sensation of zooming down the nose of the ridge, working the dynamic lift. PROPER terrain flying by masters of the craft...

A few days ago, in a mountain village in Southern Spain, I found a grounded swift struggling to take off. It didn't seem to be injured, so I picked it up very gently, took it to the edge and watched it soar off into the distance. It was a liberating experience for us both.

Best thing for me yesterday was walking into Leeds: the weather was just perfect. It was really hot but there was enough of a breeze to take the edge off and make it comfortable. There was also a bit of a carnival atmosphere on the canal with lots of happy people all enjoying it.
Even though I've done that walk hundreds of times it can still be really special.

I saw Joan Armatrading at The Stables, Wavendon.
Boy can she can still perform (I was a bit taken aback to find that she is 61 and that I first saw her when she was 25).

Not as dramatic as Hoo, but whilst out on my bike today I stumbled across a creepy old navy ammunition dump. There was something "Auschwitzy" about the place, with all the railway lines and regimented buildings

Yesterday, I was a judge for the cookery classes at an agricultural show
And the best bit about the best thing? Tasting the entries in the 'Create an alcoholic cocktail' category

I met up with some old friends for a meal and some drinks. Think it was the first time we have all been together in the past year. Really good food and a vast array of beverages

I'm going to pretend today is still Monday, because I've not been to bed yet ....
In that case, the best thing about yesterday (and the day before) was crewing on a barge. Purely by serendipitous chance. F1749279?thread=8293845.

Mol; Do you realise how envious we (or at least I), am by that?
The best thing about yesterday?;
Sitting down by the river, under the shade of a tree, with a bit of breeze, with William... and, as it would appear, today, somehow not getting my self sun burnt on the walk there and back

Writing down all my debts and making a plan to pay them off. Not the BEST thing but probably the most useful.
