yeah that leviticus is a blinder isn't it.... it also says some very strong words on homosexuality in acts, calls it an abomination to god.. this caused middle [gay] daughter quite a lot of grief as she knew the bible... she even said that she was damned because of her sexuality ....maybe it made her feel so bad that she slashed her arms to bits..scars that will never fade totally...she was in turmoil.. but hasn't self harmed for quite some time....

basically the bible can be used against just about any group you wish.. interpretations of the bible can be very dangerous, and i've come to the conclusion that all organised religion is evil and dangerous in some way or another...

I think a lot of "religious" people forget that people are all people, no matter who they are or what they do. Somewhere it says to hate the sin and love the sinner, but I think they focus on the first bit and forget about the last bit . I think they also forget that they themselves are *not* perfect and in no place to judge others.

I'll get down off my high horse now . Not all religious people are so eager to condemn.

One of my oldest and best friends is gay, and has been for ages; I know you call a lesbian woman's pretend boyfriend her "beard", what's the equivalent term for a gay man's pretend girlfriend? Anyway, I was his sort of shield while he built up the courage to come out to his family. I was just glad to be able to help him out!

I've never even been curious about doing it with another woman - I just never have. I don't feel like I'm missing anything, especially because my husband is pretty good in bed. I'm far too interested in men to want to go for women .

how are we this bludy awful freezing snowy icy windy dark and wintry morning....

i pulled a muscle in my neck/shoulder/down my back this morning when i sneezed in the bathroom, so i am in pain, sitting in work with a microwavable wheat heat pack thing on me shoulder, reeking of spray ralgex (how do you spell it) and so cold everywhere else i cant feel my feet......i'm dreaming of sitting in a sleeping bag with it tied round my neck at the top.

on the religion thing.
i believe all faiths over the years have gone their own way depending on what they wanted to take from the handful of old stories passed down and documented.. on all manner of subjects, not just sexuality, people interpret what they want according to what they approve/believe and then they branch off into another line of belief on what christianity is all about...Only IMO now folks, i dont want to start a debaticus maximus on the subject.

i think as long as you are brought up to know right from wrong, in other words, do onto others as you would have done onto yourself etc.. then you cant go far off the path of being a good person, and that's enough to be goin on with.

your daughter, flakey, should never have had to feel like that, and harm herself that way.. it's bludy hard enough being a teenager, without being confused about your sexuality and then being made to feel dirty and evil because you dont 'conform' to everyone else's idea of what normal is...

i have many gay/bi friends and i take my hat off to them for being such wonderful people despite the hardship they must endure, the secrecy, confusion and terror, then the hypocracy, bigotry, and isolation they must face when they finally do share with others what they are going thru...
i once asked a friend, who was banging on about gay men and how they shouldnt be allowed (!!) do you want to know what myself and the boyfriend got up to last night in bed.. wait till i tell you.. it was so dirty........
she was horrified.. she hurridly changed the subject, and kept looking at me strangelyl.... so i then said.. 'why would you be at all interested in what james and billy get up to in their own house over the weekend. i certainly dont want to know.. did they talk about it when they were here? no.. '
(personally i'd have loved to discuss it but then i'm just a dirtbag!! .. so 2 legs feel free to bang on about your sex life. you know we love it)

My gay mate has endured a lot of that from his family, poor lad - they kicked him out and refused to acknowledge him for several years. They've come around to it now and they're more or less back to being a family again, but it was really awful for him.

I've got just over an hour left of w*rk today... got tonnes of admin to do and I just can't be bothered, it's boring . This is far more interesting!!

evening all folks.....well it was about 3 or 4 yrs ago that she 1st cut herself...casualty were very condeming about it... i think i took her twice.. one time my youngest walked in to find her at her worst cutting.. just standing there dripping blood everywhere...

to this day we pretended to littlun that my daughters new cat had done it to her..... must have been a bloody tiger then...
she hadn't cut for all this time.. then relapsed last year in final year of uni.. but nothing on the same scale as the infamous cat incident...

her arms are maimed...uneven skin with slight ridges where some of the deeper ones were....luckily they have faded quite a lot so from a distance not so noticable.... i think she has seriously reduced her career chances in life...a lot of employers will judge her on these many scars....

still shes exceptionally intelligent and maybe too in your face about her sexuality.. a bit of a dafydd [the only gay in the village] or davina the only gay in cardiff...

Me be vaguely Wiccan (Hedge Witch, google it) too and married 3 times so basically heterosexual. BUT like you, have many many gay friends; te he, we are apparently referred to as "fag hags"!!!

Plus my best mate at college was lesbian/bi. I have never actually "done naughties" with another woman; but certainly fantasised about it & have. Plus absolutely always go for guys with long hair & feminine characteristics; it's rather a joke with my mates "oh god, long haired spaniel type just walked in, terri will be over there chatting it up in 5 minutes; poor bugger stands no chance!"

I can understand the "on top or under," syndrome; i reckon in straight sex this happens too; depending on how you are feeling with life in general & partner in particular; influences whether you feel like being passive or dominant. I get pi**ed off 'cos this one only ever wants either "me on top" OR "me take you from behind" stuff: sometimes i just want nice cosy missionary stuff.

Anyway; it all seems to have ground to a halt & we are simply "just good friends" for now; BUT te he; my lovely female friend is coming to see me soon (she moved up north) so who knows......

I simply don't understand the "taboo" stuff about sex; unless it involves violence or helpless kids or animals; what on earth is the problem?

I have a friend who very firmly believes himself gay, having come out about four years ago at the age of eleven. He's rather interested in breasts, but apparently reckons that he is not stright ast all, talking 100% gay.

His main mistake is that he is in people's faces about it, and that annoys people. And because I hang around with him and a couple of other gay and lesbian people, people seem to think that I am also a lesbian. The best part for me is when they tell me that i am a lesbian.
Them: "You are a lesbian."
Me: "Well I wasn't when I last checked."
Them: "But you are a lesbian."
Me: "Well, actually there's a couple of guys who I've got my eye on."
Them: "But you are a lesbian. You fancy women, not guys."
Me: "Seeing the flaw in the plan yet?"

A couple of people I have beomce friendly with recently (not like that) have assumed that i'm a lesbian, so I guess I've had a lot of 'going back in' to do, which is slightly unfair I think, as I never came out!

... I suddenly realise this thread might be a secret hiding place for fags, hags, and fag hags ! being a fag AND a hag, guess I am home here !
