Right, I've finished it, with a good deal of laughter, but . . .

somehow there's a nagging feeling that the old boy is onto something.smiley - erm

It's more intriguing than all the 9/11 truther/birther conspiracy stuff that keeps the U.S. economy afloat.

Pedros_Ecosse - I always look this confused! :)

>>Has anyone seen the one about the Tory peer who reckons he's been a money launderer for the IRA and lots of north African terrorists, and now says a group he calls "Foundation X", which owns 'more gold than the world's bullion reserves combined' wants to give him billions to save the UK's economy? We really do need that tinfoil hat smiley.

This is long, but worth reading his speech in full.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with the comments below the story, restraint has to be used, irrespective of age, rage, sex or mentality

Between Phil "I is not racist" Woolas, Harriet "We're all equal 'cept the gingers" Harman and Tommy "the comedy gift that keeps on giving" Sheridan, it's been quite an entertaining week from our politicians.

I wonder what they'll entertain us with next week?

By the way, Woolas was found guilty of breaching s106 of the Representation of the People Act 1983 this morning and there will now be a by-election. Pending the results of an appeal, Woolas will be barred from holding political office sine die.

Now on the BBC - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-11699888

"Two High Court judges have ordered a re-run of this year's General Election campaign in the Greater Manchester constituency of former Labour minister Phil Woolas... he has been found guilty of knowingly making false statements about Mr Watkins in campaign literature, and barred from the Commons for three years."

aw boo. I thought he would be disbarred completely smiley - sadface

This isn't really a news story, just a really good science experiment which debunks a popular internet myth:

'The Burger Lab: Revisiting the Myth of The 12-Year Old McDonald's Burger That Just Won't Rot (Testing Results!)'

http://aht.seriouseats.com/archives/2010/11/the-burger-lab-revisiting-the-myth-of-the-12-year-old-burger-testing-results.html

When I first read the story of the McDonald's burger that didn't rot I figured 'well, good. That means the burger wasn't infected in handling. Why would anyone want to sell food that was infected?'

Not sure why this is getting so many column inches on the BBC News front page - it's more like celebrity gossip than news.

Jenson Button saw some shady characters coming out from a block of flat and drove off.

And?

Who wants to be extremely wealthy? This would be a great time to start a community cleaning company. Government contracts and an endless supply of free labour.

Effers;England.

smiley - cross That's not fair swl. Some people here might think you're being serious. Not everyone here has your entreprenial flair.

I attended an event today..and met a fair few people that will probably be on the list for IDS's great project. A more smiley - bleep you, don't carish, up yours..well typically bolshy young English really, when all's said and done, smiley - laugh it would be hard to find. I'd love to see an entrepreneur try to make a go of a company with such a workforce. Yeah there'll turn up ish..but, but...what they'll do...the mind boggles

But I could be really wrong and IDS will succeed where so many before him have failed. (I always had a soft spot for him when he was the Tory leader smiley - winkeye)

Cleaning company smiley - snork Oh the irony..

Personally I'm looking forward to the Ken Loach movie..I may write to him and suggest it..
