"how the h**l do you smuggle and elephant?!!?!"
I believe the traditional method involves cans of paint and bowls of custard.
Leastways that's what I was taught as a child.

Stick it in a room on wheels. If the police stop the room and go into it, it won't matter as ...no-one talks about the elephant in the room...

Maybe they had a fleet of minis and moved them four at a time? As a great author once put it, when the eye sees something that is utterly ludicrous and unbelievable, the brain doesn't process the information.

Or ...

Maybe the smugglers were Jedi?

Not so much a news story as a comment on recent news stories:

'my little man worked that costume like no other. He rocked that wig, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. '

Clive's link = funny.

Anhaga's link = funny.

Magwitch's link = Unfunny.

I don't care poor journalistic standards at the best of times, but to post a bogus apology; to troll and to not correct the actual errors in the original report is rather disgusting. But, then what can you expect from a Rupert Murdoch operation but contempt.

Good news story:

'Edmonton teen Aiden Guerra has been recognized for his achievements as an army cadet.

Guerra earned the Major General Howard Award for achievement in academics, community service and cadet training – an honour bestowed on only one cadet in each province. . . .

What makes Guerra’s achievement so remarkable is he had to overcome Asperger's syndrome - a type of autism. . . .

Cadets gave him confidence and leadership skills, he said.

He now uses those skills to advocate for other young people with autism.'

(As background, Mr. Guerra is one of about 21,000 Royal Canadian Army Cadets. The award is given to a single cadet in each Province and Territory in the country, potentially 13 cadets each year.)

Has anyone seen the one about the Tory peer who reckons he's been a money launderer for the IRA and lots of north African terrorists, and now says a group he calls "Foundation X", which owns 'more gold than the world's bullion reserves combined' wants to give him billions to save the UK's economy? smiley - cdouble We really do need that tinfoil hat smiley.

This is long, but worth reading his speech in full.

Actually, that speech seem remarkably reasonable and on target until the last paragraph at which point it becomes 'what? what did he say? hold on here!'

The fact that the long preamble is so reasonable can't help but make one wonder whether something very and really shady is going on 'ere.

smiley - erm
