Intern, is it against the house-rules to open up Several accounts and in each one pretend to be new to the site? I would consider this to be deliberately being deceitful, Here is an example of a well known researcher who has caused up-raw on hootoo the user is Liam/lee also at one time said his name was John, http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/plain/F615?thread=375405&post=4792656#p4792656 surly this sort of thing is against the house-rules. And in my opinion must be stopped, there are a lot of dishonest people about on the net, so where we see this sort of dishonesty we must do are best to rid them off site for the safety of others who will fall prey to their deceit,

Intern - that's why I said polite enough to tell the staff.
For example if when you're put on pre-moderation you have other accounts, you should tell the staff about your other accounts so they can change their status too.
So I would think that creating other accounts would be ok, as long as staff were notified, and they were not used for ban evasion. This is an issue when people with access to group accounts get pre-moderated for example.

Mort - a middle aged Girl Interrupted Posted Feb 1, 2004
Well since posted yesterday asking for him to be given another chance...
I hold my hands up and say
FC, myself and GAs independantly gave him the same advice. I thought he was going to take it. He didn't.
In less than 24 hours he wasn't able to keep to his promises.
If he is being honest *this time* then he needs to prove it. In a months time if he has no further 'episodes' then I would put my head on the block again ask that he be given another chance, and not be surprised if no-one did.
So whilst I may now look stupid etc, I am glad I did it because I felt I needed to.
I am big and ugly enough to not mind looking like a twit, but it is a shame that this researcher wasn't able to do the right thing.
Mort - tried my best

Mort you'e not stupid at all
You just to put trust in someone you thought deserved it.
People are allowed to make mistakes but frankly i'm not hav having any further dealings with with this guy cus he is just taking the p*ss out of all of us n making this site look a complete joke.
If Douglas Adams could see this he would be turning in his grave.
This guy is trying to make this happy community look like a complete sham.
There are no more second chances from me now or in the future. I've had all i can take from this farcical episode.

My, haven't you had a busy weekend!
Spent so much time going through the backlog, I haven't got time to post anything right now. Be back later...
cheers

Mort, I think you did really well and I don't see you as being the less because of Liam's actions at all. Quite the opposite in fact - you were very clear in your communications and have maintained your integrity.
I thought it was very good that you and other ACEs showed Liam alot of tolerance and gave encouragement because it proves that alongside some of the ruder people here (who have their place too ), h2g2 is actually quite a balance kind of community.
kea.
ps have you all seen this: F57543?thread=375472 - it had me in hysterics. I'm starting to feel sorry for the guy now - I hope he's an idiot rather than someone who needs help.

Bistroist Posted Feb 2, 2004
Basically, what kea said...
I think it's encouraging that no matter how much of a pestilence he's been, a great number of ACEs (and GAs, too) has insisted on playing nice, as is their job. Guess the privilege of not ACEing anymore is that I get to be rude...
cheers

Diddy said something about flicker (Liam’s mother) in another thread about it may be Liam pretending to be his mother, this may hold some weight from what I saw in this link.

you will notice most of the discussions started have the subject hi sue.
This saga is very disturbing, the people that moderate/ run h2g2 need to look into the goings on regarding these two researchers.

Sure, Freddy, if you provide a link
I've been meaning to ask you - what did the mods say?
Anyways, I've post a message to The H2G2 Team asking for clarification about what can be done officially with this situation: F17555?thread=375949

er... i haven't gone through all the postings for this thread (it's not as if my eyesight is all that great), but i think i've spotted this lee/liam/whoever fellow around as a 17-year-old who's supposedly with st. john's ambulance or something. goes by the name of mickey mouse 2. i saw his article on 'shock' in pr, went in to make a comment, and then (because i'm nosy as hell) decided to pop in at his personal page. and then of course i saw all the first aid stuff, which set off all my warning bells as i remembered what kea told me some time ago. er... it isn't the same fellow, is it?
cheers,
far.

I think it is one of Liam's researcher IDs and - just like the others - it seems to have been abandoned. Last posting by that user was made 4 January...
He probably won't be turning up any more to do anything about the entry in PR, I'm afraid

Surprised to see this pop up again. However, it is reassuring that though we've had these problems in the past, and will probably continue to have them, overall H2G2 manages to deal with them quite well. And though members cover all aspects of society, with opinions and attitudes at extreme ends of the spectrum and everywhere in between, nobody could ever turn round and say 'H2G2 is 'orrible, don't go there again'.
Overall, we deal with things quite nicely here

i'll second that. of all the forum sites i've been to, hootoo has the largest population of nice people.
