Rangers, Bountys, Guardian Angels? What is going on?
The Groob Posted Jan 31, 2004
This is how I read this person:
They've gone into chat rooms and found they can easily play their mindgames with the people in chat rooms - they can manipulate the people there. Now they've 'stepped up in class' to H2 but they're finding this community not so easy to manipulate and thus they're gradually intensifying their efforts to get control and attention - impersonating the police etc.
Personally I don't think they will stop until someone stops them. If I had a friend who was acting in this way I would put my hand on their shoulder and tell them to consult a professional about their state of mind/behaviour.

I agree that this is probably an attention seeking youngster who is a little out of his depth here. We need to keep an open mind about it - let's not forget that there are some very devious people out there masquerading as someone they're not, with nasty ulterior motives.

As i have sed in previous posts, Lee/Liam is who he says he is, hes a fairly nice person in RL, but i think mainly for the changing or new accounts of his name is because he becomes bored with them, he was the same on Yoome2 changing his name every 5 minutes.
But i do agree with certain people on here, giving out medical advice however correct or incorrect is just plain stupid (and against the house rules i might add)

I've spent quite a bit of time going through the various usernames n i do believe he is a 17 yr old male. . He likes poetry n in one of them he writes about a relationship that has failed. It looks like he is really hurt n what i think he is doing is trying to get that love back by greeting people on here to get attention. I expect he is a very lonely man n n i know exactly how he feels. When i've felt lonely i too have wanted attention. Everybody does don't they? But what this individual is doing is going way too far n scaring people off.
I would like to talk to him to see if i can help him by listening to whatever it is he's going through cus i've gone through the same myself. It isn't nice when your love of your life doesn't want to know you.
If he can stop this mess n talk to us i'm sure there will be someone who could help him. I wouldn't like to feel alone if i was going through that.
Well i might be completely wrong i dunno!

AND asking for personal details such as email n login details contravenes the house rules as well.

Seriously Dragon Lord tell him that if he feels up to talking about what he's going through i'll do my best to help him after all i've been through it myself lately so i know exactly how it can make you feel.
There is no personal vendetta here just people concerned that this is going well out of hand.
I'm sure everyobdy wants to see a happy ending to this rather than someone stopping using this site.

LOOPYBOOPY Posted Jan 31, 2004
Yes Diddy...he wants a friend. It costs nothing to ask. But folks persist with being unfriendly. It is obvious someone has upset him.
Someone will know...they will not help, yet they could. Leave some nice messages fro a few of you...see what happens.

well, he's admitted it - F19585?thread=374978
Lets not give him too hard a time guys. He's got lots to learn yes, but with time, another help group may not be a bad thing.
*hopes she wont regret her words*

Diddy! Posted Jan 31, 2004
Dunno if there is a need for anymore help groups on this site.
Too many chiefs n not enough indians springs to mind here.
Encouragement is needed to help him get along with others in the manner we're all used to. I don't think encouragement about help groups is required.
You need to learn how to walk before you can run.
But i agree with you about not giving him a hard time. I'll be talking to him in email to see if i can help him out.

For those that haven't seen this message posted by Junior...
""To the people who didnt see the post where I said I am Liam/Lee...
I'm sorry for what I've done, I know I'm been a fool and was going the wrong way about things.
I now know I've just been a idiot, and would like to make it up to everyone for it.
I do not expect forgiveness, but I would like to ask for your understanding. There are many teens 'Like me' who think they know everything 'Like I did' but now I found, I dont know all there is to know.
I am going to take some time to find out alittle more about h2g2, then will go on from there...
I am really really sorry, and as I said, `I am not expecting forgiveness, just understanding..
Thank you.""
You could argue he was forced to admit it. But he could have closed the account and started again without admitting it and kept a low profile.
I think that it took courage to do this, in light of this thread especially.
Yes he has had many chances, yes he has ed up big time, but this is the first time he has come clean and been honest.
Doesn't this post show he deserves one last chance?
If he s up again then fair enough, but I certainly am prepared to draw a line under previous behaviour and give him another chance.
It is now up to him to show us that he really is sorry and for us to help him understand the way h2g2 works and the netiquette of the site.

hi, i have recently been on other threads that have been treating the same subject and i seem to have had problems understanding what was going on (my fault for not reading the backlog). i know this sounds stupid, but i would like to join the ACE's even if i did apply for the GA's and try to learn more about the site (i too am a newcomer and would like to join a group instead of create one).

He knows that, from 5 weeks ago, when Mort welcomed him, his very first question was about promotions.
*still with the games*
Some of these acounts had been created weeks back, only now becoming live, as others are found out.
It looks premeditated.
