Hi Natalie, Jim, Mina (not sure who else is around...)
As you may be aware quite a number of researchers are concerned about the actions of a new researcher known by various IDs (here I will refer to him as Liam).
I understand that if anyone has a problem with a post that it can be yikesed and dealt with by the mods. However this situation involves mutliple posts, accounts and guide entries, so it would be good to have some clarification from the Editors about what the options are here.
The main problem initially was that Liam was setting up multiple h2g2 researcher IDs, then using them to set up help groups aimed at newbies. I posted my initial concerns about this on Askh2g2 because I thought that what he was doing was unhelpful and would potentially confuse new researchers - "Rangers, Bountys, Guardian Angels? What is going on?" F19585?thread=371013
Since then Liam has lied on a number of occasions about his h2g2 identites and actions.
Some of Liam's actions obviously break the House Rules and have been yikes and I assume will be dealt with via moderation.
However it is hard to see how his overall behaviour will be addressed by this. Possibly we could all just ignore him, but that won't solve the problem of him confusing newbies. Nor of his dishonesty and the confusion he has created when confronted by researchers about his behaviour.
So, my questions are:
1. To what extent is the H2g2 Team aware of Liam and what he is doing?
2. Is there anything that the Team can do?
3. Or is the Team already doing something, and can we please know about it?
4. In the case of multiple IDs, and guide entries, how is it best to yikes these?
5. If specific posts or entries are yikesed, can the moderation process deal with the overall problems, or do they have to be dealth with one by one?
6. Is there any way that the community can be kept informed of what is happening with the moderation process, or is it just a matter of waiting to see which posts or pages get removed?
Thanks,
kea.

And just in case you are able to do anything here is a list of IDs and pages I have collected from the various threads over the last week that are, or probabaly are, Liam. Surely this is spam to say the least, and possibly given Liam's dishonesty, it is trolling (designed to stir things up):
U552096 - Flicker
(Sue - Liam's Mum?)
- included for reference purposes.
I don't know if this is connected, it was off the editors page:

- "Apparently Lee/Liam is asking newbies for login name n password. I know i've been messing around on here but this must be stopped now. If he f he is greeting new people telling them all kinds of lies n then aen asking for personal details then he must not be allowed to carry on with this charade. i. its getting out of hand" F1724362?thread=370615
U561038 - Star_Rider ~ To_The_Moon_And_Back (Poet)
- "started out as 'un-official staff' then went on to be a 'Post Reporter', unsubscribed, decamped and moved on to U561257 Star_Rider ~ WW1_&_WW2_Host. As shown in a previous posting these and the earlier accounts were all signed off as Liam/Lee"

I know that this type of situation is sometimes better discussed off site, but alot of the community are talking about it anyway...

I'm off to bed now. Can I make a suggestion or request - that we wait for a reply from the Italics and don't turn this thread into another general thread about Liam?
Maybe post if you have specific things that Liam has done that are relevant to the questions above *and* if you can post a supporting link. Try and limit other discussion though.
Given the large amount of conversation happening on this topic, I'm wanting to cut down on the amount of backlog I have to read each day. It might be useful to for the Italics too.
Two existing general conversations are:

Just saw your post Mort . Wanted to add another request - when posting links put a note about what the link is. H2 has been running very slow here lately, and with the Liam thing I am often waiting a long time to open links I have already seen.

Jimster is aware of the situation. However, what can be done is another matter entirely. I just feel a fool for trying to help the guy out. *sigh*

He is also lying about his age. Liam says he is 17, MickeyMouse 15.

Just to pipe up and say that we are indeed aware of the situation and have now sent an email to the Researcher(s) involved.

Just to add, I received a lovely email from Flicker this morning. She's promised to curb some of Liam's more 'disruptive' actions and hopefully we'll all be able to get back to being chums and having fun again.
Although I might be easily influenced as I've just noticed she's sporting two of my graphics on her Personal Space
