As opposed to say...pot, which you can use here but not buy or sell.
I didn't know the part about them buying there, that makes it even better!

I read it on the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation). It has to be true. (It's not CNN for goodness sake!)

All of which probably illustrates one of the creeds of GWB which is probably, "If you can't be smart, be audacious. And if that doesn't work, act crazy, so as the other people cautiously move away from you, while whispering and winking at each other, you just occupy their places."

In a pinch!
When you want to be alone.

Steve Martin had an old routine (I think it was Steve Martin) in which he suggested that the best way to avoid a muggin in a big city was to undo your fly, spill coffee down the front of your pants and talk to yourself.
I hear Washington D.C. is one of the most dangerous places in the world to live.
I don't think those two things are connected in any way.
Are you STILL proud to be an American!???
shocker_65 Posted Mar 6, 2003
Yes Because of the constitution we can say things without fear of death even if it is the govorment that we speak of.
There are alot of people that think the war impending is not needed but fail to look at the whole of the situation.
But this one action is not what being a American is all about it is the life libirties and freedoms that other nations do not have.
Now has royalty that is there for name sake only. Russia has broken up and become electorial as well. Dictatorship is becoming a thing of the past through out the world.
Human beings have rights given to them by God. Which most people of the world believe in.
Us the American people have tried to show and help other people to become free as we did over 2 hundred years ago. We have been a shining light to the opressed and those who have welcomed us to help them . Even when we were begged by Churchill to get involved we didnt until we were attacted. But the United nations has come to depend on us to be the police of the world . Im proud of us who maintain a vigil on being patriotic and dedicated to our freedoms and beliefs with being proud.
If we were to just stay at home and ignore injustice to the world and not do anything what kind of world would you be living in today?
We would still be free and proud and everyone else would be sucking up to a dictator of one type or another.
Im proud of my family Haretage as well for without the hope of peace and freedom I wouldnt be here .
I will stand up and fight with the American flag in the air or on my arm till my last breath if it means the world can be safe from opression, ignorance or just plain stupidity.
We are not perfect but no one else has come up with anything close to what freedoms andliberties we have ever before . Yet others are imatating our beliefs because humans deep down dont like war or to be dictated to.

We the UN doesn't want a policeman, they want a peacekeeper. There is a difference.
And where do you get off thinking that you are the only democracy in the world? What makes your country the arbiter of world events? You remind me of a bully on the schoolground who has managed to justify his actions to himself but no one else.

I'm going out and buying a peace t-shirt. And *here* I could never get arrested for wearing it!

Shocker's argument has some valid points. Or maybe I didn't read it too carefully. Our idea of right and wrong can NOT be pressed on to everyone else however.
An ignorance for the outside world causes destructive behavior, both for the ignorant and for the victims.

Humans have rights given to them by other humans, or by themselves.
If they were God-given, other humans would not have the power to remove them.
'Most people' in the world do not believe in your God (I'm assuming He's The Big One, in the Christian sense) I am not sure of the exact figure, but it's not most. And so what if it were?
How does that affect the rights of those who don't accept/believe in that particular God?
Royalty is not necessarily a dictatorship (even tho' I don't particularly thrill to waving flags at some 'wretched old sandbag with a flowerpot on her head'.)

Odd, here I am in a democracy and I can call for the violent overthrow of the government and unless I do something about it, stay out of jail. How novel.

What is it with her hats, anyway? She's my queen, too, and I'm not going to be arested for talking about her hats either.

Hey, Zoomer. Sometimes we can even do something about the violent overthrow of the government and not really go to jail. Remember October 1970?

Ahh. 'Our' queen... as if we could snick into the Palace any time and borrow her for half an hour, to perch amongst the cushions. Fine s'long as we bring her back unrumpled.

Or even for wearing one myself. Of course, I can't steal hers....But then, who would want to.
I am still steaming about the "My country right or wrong" diatribe so I will shut up and listen now.
