"blue sky thinking" - why not just say "it ain't gonna happen" ?
"Thinking out of the box" - why not "we want something that's out of the ordinary, but once you've given it to us, we won't use it (see above).
Yes, I have too many meetings with managers. Attack of the Jargonites!

"You're welcome." Well, maybe I don't want rid of it entirely, but it'd be nice if someone would teach Canadians a couple of alternatives, such as "That's okay", "Don't mention it" or even "No problem".
Ste, use of the word "transportation" always makes me laugh, seeing as how it used to mean being sent to a penal colony (like Australia).

These are a couple...

In reply to posting 16, "gotten" is a word that used to be used in Britain, but we dropped it and the Americans didn't. Language is like that, and the Americans aren't wrong just because they speak a somewhat different language.
The word (suffix, actually) that I would like to have abolished is '-athon'. We have 'telethons', 'walkathons', and today I heard that a vicar is doing a 'preachathon'. A 'marathon' is a long-distance race, named after an Ancient Greek battle; it is not a mammoth binge of spoiling things. So why do people feel the need to describe every major event of any kind as a 'whatever-it-is-athon'?

"I could care less."
The phrase is "I couldn't care less!"
"I could care less" doesn't make any sense in that context!

Ye olde (bad enough when used as a cliche for naming something, but worse when pronounced like that)
Dialogue (When used as a verb)
Lifestyle choice

"tell me about it" -- especially when someone replies with it to a personal whine and they *really* DON'T want to be told about it.
... in general, people using "can" where they should use "may" bothers me... ("can i get up from table?" "i dunno, can you?")
The word "yo" also bothers me for some inexplicable reason.

I really can't stand the slang word "mingin'", used to describe something disgusting or unpleasant...
It's not even a real *word*!...
Grr.

*The fact of the matter is*,
which is invariably a prelude to an obviously biased and / or unsubstantiated load of tripe when uttered by a p*l*t*c**n.

*As a matter of fact*,
which is an admission that so far, everything has been otherwise

'human resource manager'.
If that's how a company thinks about its personnel, it normally exploits them even more.

When shopping in New York departments stores, after you have purchased something, they always say "enjoy", - as though I'm really going to enjoy my nail varnish remover!! It is so insincere and pontless.
Also the phrases "I'm so not......interested" (for instance), why can't they just say they're disinterested?

As a kid (a younger kid anyway) I really REALLY hated it when my mom would get overenthusiastic over some rather mediocre dish, rolling her eyes back and saying..."delish!" I love my mom, but that's just so durned smarmy.
