Terminator Salvation.
Much better than I'd been led to believe or was cautiously hoping for.
4/5.

(to Mr P-P) Last Chance Harvey that was one of the options last Tuesday. The Senior Screen sold out before I arrived, and when it got to my turn I said "Is Night at the Museum sold out?" and he said no, Last Chance Harvey was. So I went to see Night at the Museum II which I've already moaned about.
(to Clive) The options this week are Last Chance Harvey and Terminator Salvation, so I'll go with Terminator
(to Bassman) In a word - Harry Potter. The special effects are amazing and both my son and I (and most probably my daughter and grandson) will go going to see the next film as soon as it's released. It's rare in our family for us all to be looking forward to the same thing

Proper British cinema.
Funny, gritty and without a single product placement (I think).
A bit sweary, but Eric Cantona CAN act and the end was funny and original.
Best film I've seen this year I think.

Arnie is indeed CGI'd into Salvation and it doesn't look half bad. In general the film looks very cool.

I didn't realise the trailer for The Time Traveller's Wife had been released so I just looked it up on youtube - looks great! I also highly recommend the book.

not one I've seen but perhaps one I may not make much of an effort to see as at least one critic appears not to like it.

I watched "The Class" on DVD a couple of nights ago. Apparently, one of the best schoolroom dramas of the modern age...
Well, they spent a good two hours developing the characters, but forgot to include the plot. This is, I guess, post-post-post-post-modernism or something. What it makes is an extremely crap film. Don't bother with it unless you want to watch two hours of what it's like being in a classroom. I assume you've all done that and know just how exciting it is?

Ok is anyone else, apart from me, really worried that the film of The Time Traveler's Wife is going to ruin the book for them?

Sky Captain is a good film. Not great but enjoyable in a 1930's action adventure which it was.

I think in action movies where little acting is required to join up the violent action sequences that is probably true .
Films with a script and meaningfull dialogue will allways require real people to portray real emotions .

I don´t know if anyone of you watched the show Dead Like Me. It got cancelled and seems to have been ripped off as a show called Pushing Daisies. They did make a DVD movie though, called Life After Death which I just watched. It lacked the cynicism and morbidness of the series, and wasn´t really that good. I guess that might mean the series doesn´t get revived, which is a shame. The series is worth watching though.

I saw Bruno on Saturday.
Fairly traumatised by the whole thing really.
But it's funny as hell. Same as Borat really but funnier generally.
He should move on and do something else now though Mr Baron Cohen. If he gets any more bad taste than this then he'll be spending time at her majesty's pleasure for offences agains the obscenity laws. To be honest, I'm not sure how this got past the censors at times.
An 18 certificate is well and truly justified anyway.
I guess though if you don't find his past stuff funny I wouldn't bother. If you do, this is the best yet...

Saw Bruno. I felt soiled for laughing at it, it's so wrong. Couldn't help it, the funniest thing I've seen in years.
