I saw Angels & Demons yesterday - I'm going to stick my neck out and say it's better than the book, because the things that annoyed me in the book didn't make the film, so I really enjoyed it.
At the weekend I watched the bargain bucket Death Race 2000 I'd forgotten how funny that wasor is my sense of humour just getting ~very~ sick?

Just got back from seeing Terminator Salvation. It was really rather good - not Shakespeare or anything, but well-written and well acted.
Plus naked Arnie and Sam Worthington was very droolworthy too.

Christian Bale not droolworthy then? That's disappointing.
We've just watched Bedtime Stories. Totally naff but brilliantly so. We loved it.

I saw T4 yesterday. Not bad at all, very much better than T3 - in fact no comparison. They've ditched the efforts at spoofing the first two and made a much more serious film.
However, despite coming out having been made to jump out my skin a few times and seeing a much more worthy effort than T3 I'm left feeling a bit flat.
Terminator is one of my favourite films and Terminator-2 was an excellent sequel. This doesn't really seem to add anything to be honest. They should not make any more -they need do something new and original.
T1 was an 18 certificate with a very hard, scary edge and it was innovative. T4 is a 12A - I was sat next to a very bored 7-8 year old girl yesterday. Could anyone imagine taking a child that age to see the first one?

I saw Up. Delightful movie, but it made me cry -- it does tug at the heartstrings.

I saw Streetkings yesterday, a Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker cop film featuring Hugh Laurie of all people as the internal affairs man against the two corrupt officers..
Hmmm. Tried to be deep and meaningful as well as hard edged. It fell down on nearly every level really.
In the end we decided it was alright but that's about it. I got a bit bored and had a look at hootoo towards the end on my laptop.

I saw the trailer for The Time TravellerĀ“s Wife yesterday. Normally I would stay clear of chick flicks, but the time travel aspect of it has me intrigued.

Sorry Mr PP, I also have seen films where I'd like a refund of my time.
I saw Star Trek last Tuesday, and wanted to rave about it, but my companion, a fellow Star Trek fan, awarded it only 6/10. Apparently it was "too loud" and the person behind kept kicking his seat.
Still, I give it 10/10, and would happily sit through it again (alone)

GB - That's the first time I've ever seen (or heard) anyone say a film was better than the book. It's just one of those things you never hear

Wasn't Psycho better than the book? Or most Hitchcock adaptations actually?

Saw Men Of Honour last week. The true story of the first black salvage diver in the US Navy, starring Robert De Niro and Cuba Gooding Jr.
De Niro was fantastic - gritty, in exactly the way I'm not!! You just gotta love him. Gooding Jr showed how determination can overcome an otherwise lost situation. Inspirational.

Xan, I hate chick flicks but I can't recommend The Time Traveller's Wife enough. It is one of the best books I've ever read and most definitely not a piece of chick-lit.
There is one scene I really want to see in the film: the scene where two younger Henrys have sex with themselves/himself. Could you just imagine the reaction of any unsuspecting folk? Nice, unconventional love story and then two teenage Henrys . It'd be well funny.

I'm a bit dubious and sceptical about how The Time Traveller's Wife can be made into a film. However, Eric Bana is enough to pull me in.

I'm cautiously optimistic. If it's good, then great, if not the book is still one of the best things ever put to paper.

Oh dear, oh dear!
What on earth did I expect.
Well, Dustin H is undoubtedly a great actor and Emma T is hot stuff and, and, and.......
I'm not on a good run. Next, Looking For Eric.

I just watched Dead Snow, supposedly the best Norwegian nazi zombie movie ever made. It was okay for a gore movie, but nothing that stood out of the ordinary. Typical stock characters for a slasher movie. A bit odd watching it in Norwegian with Swedish subtitles. Hopefully Iron Sky will be better.
