Titania, I love that picture of the library! It's just what a library looks like in my head.
Another busy day, and a few more to follow. Ah well. At least I've booked tickets to see Rocky Horror in November.
Today I had an odd experience. I was cycling home along the cycle track, and there, in the middle of the path, was a small tearful girl. That wasn't odd in itself, what was odd was that I almost didn't stop and ask her if she was alright (she was, by the way). It was the fear or being seen as... predatory. It really shocked me that I thought that. Maybe that's what being a man feels like.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Sep 23, 2009
Oysters? I've tried, but no thanks.
I got my 10% keyring at fat club today, so have lost 10% of my bodyweight in the last 10 weeks. I worked out that in fact I've lost 25% since new year's eve. Was really chuffed about this for a little while but now just depressed that my end goal is actually over 40% of my starting weight. I like doing the numbers, but I shouldn't think about them this much.
I got into some of my thinner clothes today though - whooopeee!

I have occasionally had that thought cross my mind when I have talked to other people's distressed children. What a sorry reflection on modern life

Ah, the Widow is always welcome at any party of mine. She came to my wedding looking pretty in Pink.
I had something intelligent to say, but right now my brain has been mushed by job applications, motorways and a recalcitrant wireless network.

> Mrs Zen, go and chear yourself up with a dozen oysters at the Cafe Royal
I always find that a dozen oysters cheer me up no end... they always have a little song to sing me, and their jokes are really funny. Unfortunately rather limited vocabulary, though. And after I've eaten six of them, they get a bit sullen.
Personally I like all shellfish, including really smelly mussels and especially oysters. Round here we get big gray sloppy Gulf Coast oysters, which can sometimes have a bit of sand in the middle - but I've learned to chew around that. I prefer them fried, though. I just tried some raw oysters last year, and yes, I chewed mine! However they had a lot of tomato-based chunky cocktail sauce, too. I can't see the point of eating oysters if you're not going to chew them.
One thing I learned about Agatha Christie is that if she mentions exotic African poisons and airplanes, then it's always the guy that's really helpful to the detective. At least when it's a Poirot mystery.

I have to admit, I don't like oysters at all. Squid, on the other hand, if it's cooked right, is lovely
And what, may I ask, is a scottish lobster, as opposed to another kind? (sorry, feeling lazy).

I had to buy bigger clothes the other day - specifically a bigger bra
And I'm going round singing "It's my menopause and I'll snap if I want to"
Bleuch.
V jealous of Teuchter's theatre going.
Maybe a Scottish lobster wears a kilt?

By Scottish lobster I just meant one of the European kind, caught in Scottish waters and extremely fresh. They're not appreciated in Scotland as much as they should be and tend to get shipped to the continong.
I'd advise caution if looking for Scottish lobster in any urban dictionaries, btw.
I just did and learned something new

It's definitely the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness in this neck of the woods today.

It's cold and foggy in the mornings here, and hot and dry in the afternoon. That's the SoCal version of indian summer!

1,000,000,000 SEK
Look at all those zeros (zeroes?) lined up. It's an awful lot of money, isn't it?
We had a quite spectacular robbery of a major cash deposit here in Stockholm early yesterday morning. After making sure the police couldn't use their helicopters and after spreading out spikes around the facility to stop cars, the robbers stole a helicopter, landed on the roof, broke in, used explosives to access the money and took off, leaving no trace at all. It was like something out of a film.

Morning all.
How spectactular, Titania.
I'm Ms Grouchy of Grouchville today: the problems with my wireless network are so bad I've got cables all over the house (can't open the door of the living room to go to the loo, even) and the PCs are plugged in. At least they apper to be working.
I've got more on at work than I've time for, and more on at home than I've time for. It's hard to be more than a ship that crosses in the night with Dr Z at the moment, but I'm behind the curve with my dissertation and I'm working hard on job applications which are incredibly time consuming as you all know. So I really could do with a working internet connection and ... and ... and ...
The problem is, whatever I am doing at the moment, I am aware of at least 5 other things I should be doing instead.
Time for a List, methinks. And I might go out side and play double or quits with Roget.
Whinge, moan, grouch, grump.

Yes, that robbery really was something else...
I'm just about to resign from my current company, and join another consultancy firm. Better pay, and focus on computer system validation (not as some aside among the programmers, developers) are my reasons. And although my current company have kept their promises, somehow it didn't turn out like it sounded to be. So, I'm switching. I feel a little unfaithful but I also feel that it's ok to switch - I've done right by them, but I'm not as happy with them as I hoped to be.
I've not told the employer yet, so
