Sounds like Freddie has had his wicked little way with you -- in all the minutiae.
Have a great trip!
I never went to acupuncture: a little digestive uneasiness is enough to make me stay close to home.

Met my HS students' parents last night, and they were all lovely people. I have no idea why I was so scared!

The nice parents always show up for Back to School Night. It's the ones that can't be bothered that will stir the pot later on.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. "HS", MR? High school? Did I miss something? When did you start teaching high school?

When the community college I teach at started doing a 'early college' program in the local high school and I needed the money.

Ag, you remind me of my dad - they're over at the house visiting one day, and I tell mom to "hey, just grab a paper towel." My dad, bizarrely, says "We don't believe in paper towels." I retorted "Well, they believe in you!"
Happy birthday, Marv! For your birthday, I'm giving you one extra year. Spend it wisely - you might use it now, then really need it later and not have it.
Lil, have you cooked that asparagus yet? My favorite way is on the grill, but failing that, in the oven works pretty good too - with olive oil and black pepper. Yum.... In fact, I've gotten on a roasting kick, and now almost all my vegetables go into the oven (425°) with olive oil and black pepper. I tried this with hatch chilies, potatoes and onions yesterday, and it was awesome.
Hmm.... everybody's shrinking, and I seem to be rapidly expanding. Is the universe getting cooler or hotter?

Lentilla, try a bit of lemon juice and/or zest with that oil and pepper. Delicious!
Also, I like to saute asparagus with EVOO, pepper, & lemon zest along with chicken. YUM!

I will steam the asparagus then douse it with browned butter. I am a Butterton.

Dang. They're forecasting snow for this area!

Snow?
We still have rather warm times here - about 20°C in the daytime, though it is cool in the mornings. No real nip in the air, just a certain feeling of autumnness. Hence my journal posting of yesterday.

And we're due for extra-hot weather with the Santa Anas (dry, hot, gusty wind). Hmmm.

Mornin All
Didn't notice the weather as we were chasing who decided to go over the wall and have a little adventure, at 6-30 this morning. Now confined to barracks without breakfast.

Snow, Lil? Sounds wonderful, actually.
October isn't a great time to move back to L.A. -- I'll be living on "the flats", which have few breezes except the oven-temp ones called the Santa Anas.

Sunny but cool in Stockholm - and windy.

Very nice library there T
Good to hear the pacemaker is working for you
Today is looking to be a grey day again. Hopefully no rain today though (when I need to be out, I'm sure the garden and allotment could do with some).
