Indeed worse things do happen at sea, let me pull up a bollard, light a pipe and I'll tell you all a tale.
Sounds like you've decided to move on Mrs Zen. At sea you get used to changing colleagues every few months as you change ships. You hone your team building and rubbing along skills. Some of the best times were had are on the worse ships. Drifts away on a tide of old memories and falls off his bollard.

Milla and Mrs Z are not the only ones here thinking of jumping ships.
My jobs have changed dramatically this year and hubby is too poorly for me to want to leave him for extended periods of time. (He's relapsed and not started remitting yet) I haven't told my employers yet, either
More for GDZ.
That baby?

Me too - I've an interview on Friday. It'll still be within the Prison but doing a completely different job for a different company.

That doesn't sound good Mags and for you and your family GDZ I hope you can manage to pull through this together.
Not much happening here to report. I'm not thinking of moving on jobwise. Most of the time I like it here and I like most of my cow-orkers. Right now I don't think I need to know what colour my parachute is (or am I just to lazy or scared by the thought?)

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned here yet but I know that certainly the UK salonistas should have seen something on the news about it. A huge hoard of anglo-saxon treasure has recently been unearthed. It's fascinating that these things can still be found, let alone how well preserved it is.

It has been declared treasure (what a wonderful idea, someone really found some buried treasure) and is now the property of the crown but the finder and landowner where it was found will be compensated when it has been valued.

Morning all.

Morning GDZ - how's things looking today?
I'm just out of a 3 hour meeting at work which only served to remind me how much I love my job.

I hope Taff found someone to talk to last night.
After 17 days with no thyroid meds, the levo-thyroxine finally arrived yesterday and of course I took one. So last night was a weird melange of night sweats and odd dreams.
That treasure hoard goes on exhibit at the Birmingham Museum today -- will anyone go see it? It looks fabulous.

The archaeologits are doing because the treasure will allow them to investigate Mercia around 700, apparently presently a black hole in terms of what was going on. All the treasure is male oriented i.e. sword roundels and girly stuff like broach pins or buckles. Speculation is that it could be a King's battle field collection.

Drat, whips a 'no' in to shape and hurls it at girly. Gotcha.

Z and I were thinking of seeing it.
I've just emailed my first full-on job application and am about to take the hard copies round to the offices. Then we are off to have a dirty weekend.
Have fun, compadres.

My Banned Books Film Festival opens tomorrow, so I'll be at work all day. Then Sunday will be the same old same old.

Accepts all three. The infuriating thing is that we've purchased a rather expensive for us license to show the films legally. But we aren't allowed to advertise the names of the films or the studios that produced them. So we have less of a chance for a large audience. My regular library patrons are about the only ones who know about it.

Have you considered making a game or riddle out of your advertisements? Give some clues about the film... year it was made, who is in it, some plot clues. Then, the folks can put two and two together on their own.

Witty, we did that with our musicals this summer. And we've put up some posters with the times and a short teaser. We tell people to phone us for the names of the movies. But no one is doing it. Word of mouth is the only legal way for us to advertise.
