Yes, the OED is correct. Bulls and constitutions are edicts issued (usually) the pope. Different languages have different appendages to "bull," such as bullaire in French. I spend a lot of time reading them. Often, they are simply letters to this abbot or that cardinal, confirming him in his election. Sometimes, however, they are used for excommunication, announcing various new rules, etc. If it's a letter to the church at large, however, it is called an encyclical.

IIEM a please.
My blood pressure has stayed reassuringly normal, so I can relax. I'm tempted to get one of these nifty little monitors, the same one my GP loaned me is £100 in the shops. A but steep perhaps, but it would be handy to be able to check my BP prior to an appointment.
I also checked H's BP too as he has been under a great deal of stress (he has just been made General Manager) and his was normal too.

IIEM I'd like a very big espresso please.
*sits down looking stunned *
National Express made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I'm heading south next week to see my parents. It's my father's 70th birthday next Wednesday.

That's good, Amy, I bet they are looking forward to seeing you.
Two film units busy in town today. Nothing exciting though, just the local drama school learning the ropes.

[Mog] Well, it looks like I might have a job! Starting Saturday 21, I'll be working as a board operator for a reasonably-local radio station!

The first of four transregional religion candidates is here today. His job talk is during the two hours before a three hour class. Ah, the joys of sitting on my butt for 5 hours...
Anyway, I'm hoping he's as interesting as his work, since he works on trans-bering strait shamanism and its encounter with whites. His work is really interesting, and I think it would be an excellent addition to the world history field we have here.
It's just that I wish I didn't have class tonight...

IIEM, a frappucino if you will.
Did something I'd never previously done this week- put a poem forward to <./>ThePost</.>
Now, most of my poems and song lyrics are steaming piles of horse manure, and I ahve no reason to believe this one to be any different, but Shazz wanted poems for the Valentines issue, so i decided to send one in to depress people slightly.
