The Aroma Café: Past Christmas
egon Posted Feb 13, 2004
If it's Monty Python anecdote time again, I walked into Michael Plain and nearly sent him flying last year. He's very short, you know.

IIEM, a Lil Special please!
We're into our second day of snow. It doesn't look like much on the ground at this elevation (about 5800 feet above sea level), but up on Sierra Blanca (12,001 feet) it must be spectacular! Anyhow, the cold is starting to really bite -- when I brought the outdoor cat's food bowl in I found that the remains of her meal were frozen solid.
On Tuesday night, on the way to class, I saw alpenglow for the very first time, sunset reflecting off Sierra Blanca. I couldn't stay to observe, but I'm going to have to watch for it from now on. Absolutely breathtaking!

By the way, who is in charge of starting new threads? We ought to have a new one for Valentine's Day.

I'm with Yal. I *hate* Valentine's Day. Makes me think about past girlfriends and the fact that I don't have one now. And then i get melancholic and start drinking white wine, which always brings my feelings out more, so i get more melancholic and drink more white wine and so on and so forth, until the Paul Masson bottles are empty.

My daughter has just been dumped by her BF and is finding all these huge Valentine's displays particularly upsetting. We reckoned that if she gave into the urge to kick a pile of s into orbit she could successfully plead mitigating circumstances.
Mr T and I have never been that bothered about Feb 14th.

[Dylan] Hear, hear! Of course, the fact that my sister's birthday is on the 15th doesn't really help matters.

HUmm definately. I'm in a dilmea tomorrow, my brother is coming down tomorrow and it would be really nice to go out for a Balti, (this is Birmingham after all) and have a good chat to catch up, but the entire resturant will be full of couples... I'm seriously considering a take way, as A is going out for a romantic meal for two with B..

Well, with valentines being tomorrow, and me going to thje football, I will be able to assuage my loneliness by being surrounded by at least 25,000 other people...

We have couple birthdays on 17th, so we usually celebrate one the weekend before and the other later. So this weekend will be about my little nephew.
