Wulfric Posted Jul 30, 2003
Hello.
Tom Baker used to live in one of the Rodings (I believe).
The composer Vaughan Williams lived in Danbury.
Neil Innes (ex-Bonzo Dog Band and also worked with Monty Python - the minstrel in "Holy Grail") came from Danbury.
The Elizabethan composers William Byrd and Thomas Tallis lived in Essex.

for the delay in replying: problems with posting unfortunately... Anyway, all in the past now [hopefully]...
Wulfric.. I definitely like the idea of Tom Baker having lived in the area..
The other infos were great as well..
As soon as i'm sure that some of the problems with my PC have ben sorted at last, i will post a quite informative link about Douglas Adams... Might interest a few people on here [even if there are not linked to Essex]...
Not much to add just now, but i'll definitely be back....
All the best...

Hi Xian..
My PC is ok now ["touches wood"]... Gave me a lot of hassles these last weeks tho'... Couldn't post when i wanted... Couldn't update entries/pages... Had words disappearing when managed to post... Oh and couldn't type my username when trying to login.. That was only a small list of the problems i had with the darn machine... All in the past now fortunately..
All i need to do now is organise my online life around my more busier Real life [W*rk ] and Loup is your uncle...
To start this nice day with something positive, here is a link having to do with Tom Baker... Not the best link possible but it's a start:http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/features/baker/index.shtml

Hi Sian, Wulfric and Loup
Loup the link on Tom Baker sounds very interesting. I am a big fan of Tom Baker not only when he played Doctor Who but When he played Ratsputin, Sherlock Holmes and when he was in Randolph and Hopkirk deceased.

Douglas Adams and Tom Baker have a connection - Douglas Adams wrote the Doctor Who edition of Shada (that was never completely shown) and Tom Baker was the Doctor in it.

Wulfric Posted Aug 7, 2003
Not only that - Douglas Adams wrote a programme years ago called "Hyperland" about the Internet (before it existed) and starring Tom Baker.

Kat and Wulfric...
That's two celebs who will definitely have lots of [connected] infos after their names... great stuff...
A bit of linking then and there and it could be a list with cross-references as well...
Talk soon...
Won't be able to start work on the page [list] tonight as unfortunately i will be working [] but if i can, i will try to put some of the names we've already got in alphabetical order first thing in the morning tomorrow... Then, after that, it will be just a question of adding links...
Once the page starts looking presentable, i will add the names of everyone who provided the infos... Unless you don't mind having an entry in construction on your personal space, of course... Might still wait for the page to look presentable first tho'... Should not take too long now...
Anyway, for these priceless infos... We will definitely make good use of them...
[I noticed that on Douglas Adams' bio the school he went in Essex has been named... That will make it even more informative...]
Back soon...

Talk soon...
[Definitly glad that my PC is behaving now..]

erm, well i used to live in a little village called Wivenhoe near Colchester,
but i shared a house with the famous actor Paul Brightwell,
star of "Sliding Doors" which co-starred Gwynneth Paltrow and John Hannah...
...just thought you'd like to know.
