The Queen travels...
Posted Feb 24, 2000
The Queen continues to receive warm welcomes in her travels outside of Damogran. In addition to her recent visit to the Royal Ski Lodge on Mt. Sandcastle, she has been requested to preside at the knighting of Sir Garius, slayer of the dreaded rat-ant of the enchanted forest surrounding the Aroma Cafe. http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=26140&thread=40512
Her patronage has also been requested for the climb of Mt. SandEverest by Sir Demon Drawer. A Damogranian flag will be planted at the summit! http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=26840&thread=40533
Damogranian news.
The Royal Salon was immnsely popular, but the weather has turned warm, and a Royal Picnic & Pot Luck has begun on the Royal Lawn. The Quest for names for the Royal Seal and Damogran Castle is complete. Announcement to be made at the Royal Picnic. Both old and new visitors continue to appear at Court. All are welcome! Ragnar's Noble Quest continues. The poor doggie is now a slave of the evil Sheik Ratt-al-an-Rho'ul. But he is stout of heart and is planning his escape.

The Queen continues to enjoy her Life in the Royal Court, but also pursues her private interests. And she would like to stop talking in the third person alla time. So, hullo, it's just me, blu.
Lotta good stuff happening on h2g2. Am flying via bluDragon Airlines [Mythical Airline of the Year] from Spiny's in Edinburgh to visit the President of HeadSnot in Amsterdam. Helped rescue Greebo from Garibaldi's evil Schrodinger Box and am looking forward to his public spanking on Sunday, [which, I believe, is appropriately his birthday]
I would like to spend more time at Gargleblaster's non-religion pages, http://www.h2g2.com/A254314 and the h2g2 Historical Society http://www.h2g2.com/A240058 , as well as the Book Nook http://www.h2g2.com/A229943 and alla other places connected to the Aroma Cafe http://www.h2g2.com/A202924 . Wish there was more conversation at the Wiccan Forum http://www.h2g2.com/A196300 , too. Hoping that my Censorship article is being edited. Also wish there was more feedback during the editing process. And while I'm at it I also wish for a faster h2g2 server, a new messageboard, more tolerance for varying senses of humor, and less offence taken in general, oh...and world peace, and an end to world hunger, too.
PS if you wanna really help with the world hunger problem, go to The Hunger Site http://www.thehungersite.com/ For Real. This is NOT a scam. The UN really DOES get the food, they said so. Paid directly by the contributors--no administrative costs!

Several members of the Court accompanied her. During her absence, many new members appeared in the Royal Court. There were lotsa Eddies in the space time continuum which resulted in several disjointed conversations.
A new conversation containing 'Drinking Songs' has appeared.http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?thread=39361&forum=29432 Ragnar continues his neverending Quest to 'Find Damogran' [good doggie] http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?thread=38614&forum=29432 Bluebottle has been writing poetry at random throughout the queendom. New Quest to name the Royal Castle!
The Royal Castle needs a name. We believe 'Camelot' has been taken, and the other suggestions so far are not completely acceptable, so the Queen has announced a new Quest for an appropriate name. The Queen's decision will be final. Please enclose SASE. In case of tie, duplicate prizes will be awarded.
Visit beautiful Damogran!

Oops... we are so embarassed. The lovely gold statue of the Queen was actually a gift of His Royal Highness, Fuolornius, King of Brequinda
on the Foth of Avalars. It was presented by Paul Prefect, and was placed before the throne in the Great Hall by four magnificent Fuolornis Fire Dragons. Our Crown Jeweller, the Brain, created a wondrous goblet, with filigree, an' jewels, an' everything. An' it's still good for drinking from. *slurp* He is also repairing the dents in the Royal Crown, from when we went off on a secret mission fighting brigands. There now. We hope we have everything straight. Oh, the heavy responsibilities of royalty...
P'rhaps we will jus' have a li'l drinkie outta that goblet and relax a bit...*glug, glug, glug* Ahhhhhhhh........

This week in Damogran
Posted Feb 3, 2000
Well, well!
We never anticipated it, but there was a roadsign to Damogran posted on the Main page of the Guide all last weekend! We have had lotsa travelers to the Court. Sorta wish we had put a counter on the Royal Website so we would know how many travelers stopped by. If you just passed through and didn't feel like you were dressed for a formal Court appearance, the Queen sends you a warm Welcome to Damogran anyway! Drop in again when you can stop and chat. Tourists are always welcome in informal attire. And if you would like your picture taken in front of the Castle, just ask a passing flunky. Souvenier Postcards also available in the Lobby.
We DID have lotsa folks who said "hello" and some new Appointments to the Royal Court. The Royal Castle has added so many new wings that we are rather suprised that it doesn't take off. But as we already have a mythical Flying Castle [it's around somewhere] we really dont need it to learn to fly too.
Appointments to the Court.
We learned that the Queen was mentioned in a lovely poem in the h2g2 Post.*blush* Bluebottle has therefore been appointed Poet Laureate. We have a State Broadcaster who is about to begin Breakfast News.*yummy* We have a Crown Jeweler who has created a lovely statue of our Royal Person. [gotta figure out how to move it, gold is so heavy] But maybe it looks good just where it is. In the Royal Ballroom. We now have a Royal Seeker after Wisdom, and a Royal Guard Dog is en route from Scotland.
News.
A wondrous Map of Damogran has been completed by Sir Shawn, and awaits entry in the appropriate scroll by the Royal Scribes. It may be viewed temporarily at http://www.orlando-seabrook.freeserve.co.uk/damogranmap.jpg
The Royal Seal has learned to juggle. Sir Spiny and Old Wolf had an heroic escape from brigands [with assistance from a mousie, a mysterious golden dragon, and erm...others] We expect their return to Court any second. With lotsa Stuff. We have been learning Damogranian Drinking Songs in the Great Hall Sing-along. And are looking for more contributions. Of songs, that is. We seem to have lotsa stuff to drink and tankards to clink. C[_] http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?thread=37475&forum=29432
New threads are popping up around the Court, and 'Things Are Happening' everywhere. Philosophical discussions and interesting folks abound. *puff, puff* Sometimes the Queen herself has a hard time keeping up. Fortunately, if you missed anything, the Royal Scribes toil unceasingly to record it all.
And, remember, titles still available at reasonable discounts.
24 hour food service.
We never close.

Court News & Gossip
Posted Jan 25, 2000
Well, the Royal Court seems to be occupying much of our time. We had no idea being Queen would bring such responsibility. But it is well worth it to see all the happy citizens and visitors to our land.
News.
There is now a National Anthem for our Fair Land, as well as several drinking songs. The complete Anthem may be seen on the Royal Webpage, but unfortunately the tune escapes us for the moment. It does sound lovely when sung in VR chorus, tho. There may be a Songbook soon to record the more ribald and rollicking ones. We suspect there is going to be a Royal sing-along any second.
There was a wondrous display of fireworks recently on the Royal Lawn [actually in the air ABOVE the Royal Lawn]. The fireworks may be viewed in the Queen's Court III conversation. They will be available nightly [whenever it is night for you] from now on.
Many new courtiers have recently received their titles and have been added to the Royal Webpage. We welcome both citizens of Damogran and travelers to stop in and introduce themselves. Your visit will be recorded on the Royal Scroll. An' we bet there will be something good to eat or drink, too. We have an incredible baker, and lots of yummy stuff on the good ole 'groaning board'.
We also now have a Royal History. Many are adding their recollections. All historians are welcome to record their research here.
Gossip.
Will Spiny and Old Wolf ever return to Court? Will Count Santragenius V convince the Countess that a 'quickie' means a quick visit to Damogran? Will Sir Irving Washington need musclebuilding exercises to carry alla his Royal titles? What will be the latest cake recipe introduced in Court by the Royal Baker, AEndr? Tune in for answers to these [and other pressing questions] in the lastest installment of 'As the Royal Court Turns'.
And, remember, titles still available at reasonable discounts. 24 hour food service. We never close. Really.
