h2g2 birthday preparations

Well, it is less than one week until the h2g2 First Birthday! It seems like only yesterday that I got that strange message from Ford. And when I got here it was mostly just green fields. Ah, memories...
*sigh*
I am helping with the party preparations over at http://www.h2g2.com/A296381 . I am helping to put up the decorations, and ice the cake. Ændr came over to the cake-decorating and had some really yummy cake for the party, too. There are also gonna be fireworks at the party, and Damogran will celebrate with a spechul display on the lawn as well.
The Damogran float http://www.h2g2.com/A289109 for the h2g2 Parade http://www.h2g2.com/A274835 is almost ready, although I would like to put some finishing touches on the balloon, it wasnt really intended to be used in it's present state. Dunno if I will have time tho.
Gargleblaster's Approved Article on Atheism http://www.h2g2.com/A254477 has had a response from DNA himself. Sorta interesting, and has started a small debate. Very difficult to discuss alla this without 'topic drift' and a whole buncha other things getting in the way but it is nice to have an [occasional] serious discussion. Should probably drop in to the FFFF [Freedom from Faith Foundation http://www.h2g2.com/A254314] more often.
Greebo's wedding day has come and gone. No reports back from our dear kitty yet...
Damogranian news.
Sir Spiny has hijacked the Flying Castle and gone joyriding about St. Lucia. His castle docking skills seem to need some work. Some of the courtiers have been bumped, bruised, and buried by the return of the castle. That hedgehog is SUCH a swashbuckler, but he really shouldnt land castles on the courtiers. We are looking forward to a lovely Royal Ball in the Great Hall, however. And maybe that flying party will get 'off the ground' *tee hee* Of course we have to get back to Damogran for the h2g2 Birthday Celebration and the fireworks on the lawn, an' the Parade an' everything, but you can accomplish wonders in VR.

My life and times

As I seem to have gotten behind once again, here is a quick update of my life and times. In Damogran, and elsewhere.
Went to Greebo's 'Pre-wedding Drinkies' http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=36208&thread=44952 and wished her well. Only a few days to the 'Event' now. Best wishes again, Greebo! [have a doughnut].
I have joined H2G2 Researchers Against Swimming Costumes. [HRASC] http://www.h2g2.com/A229303 A speshul 'Family Membership' was created for me and Sealia! Thank you, TechnicolorYawn!
I have also just adopted a missing researcher at the recently created Battersea Researchers Home http://www.h2g2.com/A270451 . Dear Feisor http://www.h2g2.com/U38014 *sob* who went missing over 7 months ago. *choke* The Battersea Researchers Home is doing a wonderful job for lost and missing researchers. Adopt a missing researcher today!
Damogranian news.
The Wondrous Flying Castle has been very busy. After a wonderful formal dinner in the Great Hall and [somewhat less formal] foodfight, we adjourned to the Drawing Room for Coffee and Dessert. The Castle then docked at a delightful beach in St. Lucia, where a mechanical squid and Peking Ducks appeared. Some claim this is somewhat surreal. I think I agree.
Participants on the Damogranian Float http://www.h2g2.com/A289109 are still being added for the h2g2 Parade. We have a wonderful song to march to--the Damogranian Polka. We also have a giant 'Queen blu' balloon, but need an artist to properly render the Courtiers. Our VR camera doesn't seem to be working very well.
The Damogranian Flag has been successfully planted on the summit of Mt. SandEverest. Congratulations to the successful Climbing Team, [who are also marching with the Royal Float in the parade].
There was a brief crisis in the Royal Kitchen when some of the 'interesting' lemons [main ingredient of 'interesting' lemonade] escaped. They got out onto the Royal Croquet green and scared the flamingos and hedgehogs. But all is well as they have been recaptured, and a group of Scouts seem to be safely touring the kitchen at the moment.
And that's all the news I can think of right now. Hope I didn't leave anyone or anything 'portant out.

Oh, dear! so much is going on I prob'ly will forget someone or something.
Damogran.
The plans for the h2g2 Parade continue. http://www.h2g2.com/A274835 We may need help with the Damogranian float, so watch for a thread over in Damogran.
The Queen has opened a Reception Room http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=29432&thread=44519 to greet new visitors to Damogran. I am always afraid I am gonna miss someone, or leave a visitor off the Royal Scrolls, so maybe this will help.
There is also a brand-new link to the Royal Kitchens! http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?thread=44529&forum=29432 Dunno what's gonna happen there, but sure it will be interesting.
We have two new religious leaders, Archbishop Marv the Grate, from the CotTB [which the Queen has recently joined] and an 'official' Cardinal Sinner: Gargleblaster. There is also a new Guide article about alla organizations and clubs in h2g2 and the Fair Land of Damogran is one of the first entries! http://www.h2g2.com/A270325
Several other new visitors have arrived, and contact has been made with other lands, er...galaxies, ah...dimensions.
Quests.
The wondrous Flying Castle has finally taken off, play continues in the royal croquet game--more or less, as does the Quest of Lord Verawn. Check the threads over in Damogran.

I have been listed as a contributor to the article on Miami, Florida. Now I gotta go back there and visit some of those places! I have also added one more entry to the growing list of SETI entries in the Guide. It is still in the works, but you can drop in if you want. It's an attempt to sort out all of the different things in the guide about SETI. So that we arent any more confused than we already are.... Sure, right.
And MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!
LAST MONDAY WAS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!!!

Another day in Damogran...

A little late with a weekly update, but I will try and hit the high points in [and out] of the Fair Land of Damogran. Firstly, the Queen was interviewed *blush* by the h2g2 Post. By monsy. And she was right, it didn't hurt at all.

Damogranians have gone off in several directions:
A Royal Croquet game is still going on at the Royal Picnic & Pot Luck http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=29432&thread=40692 and it may spin off into it's own thread at any second.
Some Courtiers have also begun a Quest for the Marvelous Flying Castle of Damogran. http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=29432&thread=42204 Lady billypilgrim is leading this Quest, as she recently found the secret entrance and was able to visit. We have a new Royal Mage assisting in this Quest, as well as many brave Knights. We have heard that frequently there are flying parties in flying castles. We hope.
