Our crown.
Posted Dec 16, 1999
Ho hum, today was a day much like any other day. My crown was finally delivered. It is not exactly as ordered [good help in the castle is so hard to get these days] but will do for the time being. We must keep up appearances.
I am thinking that those involved in my ...ah...crowning, should be rewarded. [you know who you are]
Perhaps a Knighthood, or some such honor.
hmmmm.....

Dragon Queen of Damogran
Posted Dec 14, 1999
We are pleased to announce our elevation to royalty. Through a sequence of events which remain somewhat ...erm.....obscure, we have recently received the title of
*trumpet flourish*
DRAGON QUEEN OF DAMOGRAN
*trumpet flourish*
[bows graciously, waves royally]
Our thanks to all connected to this recent event, friends, noble allies, sycophants, and hangers-on.
Feel free to fawn, and make much of this. Or ignore it completely. Either response is fully appropriate.
Crown jewels and robes are expected momentarily.

yikes! holidays!
Posted Dec 8, 1999
Well, it seems to be time for my weekly update.
As we are being propelled into the midst of the winter solstice festivities, I thought I would do my bit and let you all know that the Sun WILL return.
However, just to be on the safe side, please continue the frenzy of gift purchasing, decorating lavishly with lights and pine boughs in and outside your cave/nest/home, and consuming food and drink liberally, especially those beverages with 'warming' properties. You can never be too sure about the solstice; just because the sun has returned every other year doesn't mean it will THIS time. Especially with the millennium and all...
So, party on. Do your bit to insure the return of the sun.
For a discussion of the Solstice festival from a wiccan/pagan perspective, go to Yule: the Winter Solstice http://www.h2g2.com/A224533 . [This article is currently under construction]
And to see how this problem, as well as other similar issues, is handled in the reverse 'down under', go to the discussion of Magick in the Southern Hemisphere http://www.h2g2.com/A222580 .

American Thanksgiving
Posted Nov 25, 1999
Today is the day before Thanksgiving in the US. The fourth Thursday of November is set aside each year for giving thanks. By order of the President of the US.
Americans celebrate this event in our usual fashion; overindulgence.
So tomorrow I will be cooking a 20 pound turkey with dressing, potatoes, salad, vegetables, gravy, rolls, assorted relishes, and two kinds of pie for dessert.
The men usually watch football.
I may not spend much time on h2g2 tomorrow.
Over and out.
