We're aware that this is for the most part a light-hearted discussion thread, but there have been posts to this thread that have worried us.

We're concerned the thread veers beyond the bounds of taste and decency rather regularly and so have taken the decision of locking it in order that we can reconsider the situation over the weekend.

h2g2 Editors

Late last week, we received a number of complaints about certain sexually explicit posts to this conversation. Although we've reviewed the postings here occasionally, we don't tend to read every posting that's made; we continue to rely on reactive moderation. However, we're duty-bound to fully investigate complaints that extend beyond the normal responsibilities of the duty Moderators. As this is a fairly active conversation (over 7,500 postings and rising), we didn't want the postings count to be increasing while we were working backwards through recent contributions. This was why we had to lock the thread while we checked back through the last few weeks of posting.

Regrettably, we have had to remove a few postings for going beyond what we feel is justifiable for a BBC community site. But we're very pleased to be able to reopen this conversation now. We don't want to ruin anyone's fun, but we should remind everyone of the House Rules regarding sexual content on h2g2. Also, using the Complaints Button with regard to offensive content might be better than leaving things for us to review as that will inevitably involve some degree of disruption to the Conversation as we read the backlog.

We now return you to your usual service.

Well TPTB posts came straight after a post about badgers. Seems pretty obvious to me.

Yep.... reading through the Blog the rmeoved posts seem few and far between, and one I could identify as that 'regarding a chicken'.... Which actually probably was well beyond the relms of what is permitted... not my post I might add <

WEll then of couse there were all the long posts about badgers

Just checked, yup - my illuminating discourse on fowl foreplay seems to have inspired a mod. I note sales of live chickens rose 300% in the intervening weeks between my posting and being modded. Calls made to joiners also increased. Perhaps it was MFI that objected - cruelty to drawers and such like.

My faith in the Italics has been restored! (not that it was ever shaken anyway).

I had thrush once, in the nether regions. Then after a few weeks of agony my doctor decided that I might have had a reaction to canesten[sp?] cream and prescribed me something else.
