Banking giant Santander UK today said it had returned all its call centres in India to the UK following complaints from customers. All calls handled by the Indian centres are now being dealt with by staff based in Glasgow, Leicester and Liverpool, so ensuring that customers have not one but three unintelligible dialects to deal with.

They took over my bank Alliance and Leicester. And it's been a nightmare for me to deal with the new bureacratic stuff they brought in to do with the telephone system. Nothing to do with where call centres were based but entirely their inhuman way of setting up their systems.
I'm dreading phoning them again next time a bill needs paying.

So it turns out the predictions for
the end of the Whirled just meant
the end of the News of the Whirled.
What is less known and little understood is
that it was a Vogon operation to make way
for a cyberspace bypass.
Hence fourth estate values in h2g2, the active
Earth Edition of the Hitch Hikers Guide to the
Galaxy will be `all the Noose you need, all the
time`.

Murdoch's flown in.

(There's a discussion on the radio right now where they are discussing the kinds of threats made to politicians. Obviously specifics can't be made for legal reasons. But the depth of this thing is truly incredible.)

I know this isn;t a story of any significance...apart from it showing my how remote celebrity pap news is from my sphere...as I didn;t even know she'd had a 3rd one...oh, it makes me so happy to not not to have known any of that.

Yes tarrantoes a culture was made here, the infected everything decent. Rule of Law has flown away.
It has always been fashionable on h2g2 to despise Brown so I don't know how much sympathy he'll get.

"In October 2006, the then editor of the Sun, Rebekah Brooks, contacted the Browns to tell them that they had obtained details from the medical file of their four-month-old son, Fraser," http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/11/phone-hacking-news-international-gordon-brown
But according to the BBC today -
"The Browns also fear medical records relating to their son Fraser, whom the Sun revealed in 2006 had cystic fibrosis, may have been obtained."
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14112097
It's not like the Browns were particularly bothered -
"The Prime Minister's wife Sarah Brown is hosting a slumber party at Chequers. Guests include Rupert Murdoch's wife Wendi and his daughter Elisabeth, the television presenter Claudia Winkleman and newspaper editor Rebekah Wade."

Well yes when Rule of Law goes away..things will go awry cos people are HUMAN.
It's all the little people that bother me most though that have been 'hacked'.
That tells you where the real poison is coming from.
It's going to be a hell of a job to put this right..but I have hope.
