Wel indeed. I can hardly recreate that sticky floor feeling by spilling coke and popcorn in my own livingroom, can I?
I imagine these were the same people who didn't understand the change in film stock for the Mi Pei sequence in Kill Bill 2.

Just so I can understand this walking out halfway through business - does 'Planet Terror' have it's own credits? I mean, does it finish with a credit reel, then you get trailers and then the second feature? It sounds great and I loved the trailer... so, it certainly would be a shame to miss out on a cinema release just because the average US theatre-goer lacks the nouse to know what's going on...

Each film had its own opening titles and credits, with a couple of trailers before each film. And while I can appreciate that not every moviegoer stays till the credits stop rolling, like I do, there was a clear segue from one film to the trailers before the second. And, the film has been clearly advertised as a double feature here. I can't understand where the confusion would come from, other than a really oblivious patron.
We'll have to try to see it a few hundred more times, in order to artificially inflate its reception, and ensure a proper theatrical release in the U.K.

You do wonder why go watch a movie you know so little about that you´re not even aware it´s a double feature. From what I heard, all they will do in Europe is split it up into two movies. For one thing, that means you can charge people twice for it.

On the other hand QTs work has had a tendancy to be better received here.
I can imagine it is possible that it being a sucess here and in Europe and then getting re-released may kick start it.
Having read the special about it in this monrths empire I would be gutted if it didnt get released.
arrggghhh!!!!!

I think splitting it into two separate films would spoil some of the overall effect, but it would be better than no release at all. I was thinking that we got a heck of a bargain, there- a double feature, and at a matinee ticket price.
Fingers crossed that you all get a chance to see it on the big screen.

It says in this months empire that in the UK it will be released as a double feature.

we saw MISS POTTER on dvd... nicey nice kind of film, amazed at how courteous they were back in that day [government take not latest headlines over our rude and impolit society] and interesting to learn about her... it was ok wuldn't necessarily want to see it again...
and STARTER FOR 10 humerous brit film set in the 80s about a poor lad joining bristol uni and aiming to get on the uni challenge team.. remember bamber gasgoine? typical coming of age film, he lusts after the blonde bombshell but his true love the kooky campaigner is waiting to be discovered..lots of funny moments.. LOVED the toffee nosed team captain...and very funny when they do appear on the programme..just about every CURE track there is played out too...good quality film 8/10.
waiting for THIS IS ENGLAND....best shane meadows movie yet they reckon, and another one set in the 80's... was the 80's so good?? i can't remember.. can remember big bad hair styles and legwarmers

I went to see Spiderman 3 today. It is a rather jumpy ride, certain things in the movie are done rather well while others are rather cringeworthy. Such as the rather unsubtle Evil Peter. It seems as if the people doing the screenplay did parts on their own and then just glued it all together at the end.

I'm taking my son to see that tomorrow
Tonight Film4 are screening "Withnail & I" so I'll finally get all those jokes and one-liners that blues and Kerr Avon have been coming out with for ages here

'I assure you officer, I've only had a few ales.'
Grindhouse starting to make more sense. Tarantino his showing the 'complete' version (ie without the missing reels) of his half at Cannes, so it may be what we wil get in the UK will be the full versions of both films.
The last movie I actually saw in it's entirtey was 'Way Out West', with the incomparable Stan and Olly. Still a work of comedy genius, and it never fails to give me a genuine belly laugh.

It's a bummer that they're splitting it into two separate films- three hours, 20 minutes is a long time to sit still, but the intermission and trailers were part of the fun (as were the "mising reel" gags). I guess it's a good thing it's not been shevled entirely, though.
Never seen "Way Out West". My dad's a big Laurel & Hardy fan, though, so maybe I can get my mitts on it and give it a try soon.
Watched another oldie (but goodie) the night before last: "Morgan" A Suitable Case for Treatment". I'll say! Though crashing a wedding reception wearing a gorilla suit looks like a lot of fun.

Bridge to Terabithia.
Not at all what I was expecting from the trailers, but a truly moving film. Great performances from the two young actors.

Tonight I shall be mostly watching a film that Amazon calls "Hidden (Caché)". I think it's in foreign.
