How tall are you?
Big Red Posted Sep 16, 2003
Five feet, six inches.
Emmily's remark reminds me of a school friend who always used to say she was "4 foot 11 and 3/4ths."
Randy Newman's "Short People" was a satire about the idiocy of bigotry. Some people didn't understand that, and it was banned from some U.S. radio stations. Score one for the humor-impaired.

Tall enough to hold my head up high with legs long enough to reach the ground. I guess around 23 imperial metres (thats six foot two, or was it two foot six )

Hmmmm so I am the smallest then?
Big Red, some years ago there was a TV prog. I don't remember much about it, I think part of it was anyone under 5ft had to live underground, and were not allowed out during daylight, or something like that. I think they got a lot of complaints, it didn't bother me, can't be this small without a sense of humour, and a big mouth to make up for the lack of height

I think that programme was called "small people" and it was a satire about apartheid and other segregation issues. It had the bloke who played Mike out of the young ones in it I dont remeber it being all that funny, so although it was making a good point it didnt gett through to many people.

Given that the average male, when asked, will exaggerate their height by around 2 inches and that the average female will do so by 1 inch then what are the implications for this thread?
Me? I'm 5' 10"
Supposedly...
(PS, don't aske me where I got that from, it's lost in the mists of time, possibly a psychology student told me this once )

Well if nothing else this thread seems to have found another way to disseminate the sex of the ambiguous handles we all sign on with.
Under 5`10" probably Female
Over 6 feet almost certainly Male.
I was 6 feet and half an inch in the days of my youth. (First passport application ) Now -who knows or cares.
