Sho - employed again! Posted Oct 5, 2012
my daughter's class get to watch Carambolage (recorded from Arte) but I'm never sure when it's on.
I live within the footprint for UK freeview channels. I know exactly when and how to appreciate that
PH: changing my team at work part-way through the year (not my decision) and hearing that my long-planned holiday should be cancelled because the new team doesn't agree that I should go away then.

PH: There are not enough hours in the evening. We are going to a concert tonight at 8 pm. The seats are not numbered, so we have to get there well ahead of time.
I have booked a table to eat at 6 pm so we have finished in time for this. I'm trying very hard not to eat too much lunch .....

Pit, I know you’re being sarky, but NEVER! I would not be good enough.
KB- sorry mate, can’t mention that! Classified info!
Sho, would you believe university seems to be going good at the moment so things are relatively good at the moment. Yes, I have, but there’s surely a limit.
PH: too much reading for university; I feel like I’ll never get through it all. RE Sho’s PH: when bad weather makes the internet go funny. My friends insist it doesn’t have anything to do with it, but the internet comes through your phone line, so what else could it be but that?
Sho, go on your holiday. They don’t decide if you should stay; they sound like bad people indeed.

PH: the difficulty (ie non intuitiveness) of putting photos onto my iPad.

What, an Apple product non intuitive?! Be you struck down for such sacrilegious utterings Don't you know their stuff 'just works'?

Beatrice Posted Oct 5, 2012
Well, yeah, it usually does! That's why this is particularly annoying.

Winnoch, Passbook is the singularly most confusing thing I have ever seen. No, hang on, trying to get ringtones and music onto the damned iPhone that you haven't bought from the iTunes Store.
Well, when you write those things be they rants or otherwise, you're inviting a lot of crap and curiosity if you put names or even initials in there, so... never going to happen, I'll keep being vague unless I'm feeling particularly nasty of a day.

Then you're really just talking to yourself. It's annoyingly passive-aggressive.

can't go on my trip after all - got the holiday but don't have the cash due to some other things cropping up
oh well.
PH - the fact that I need to take the Gruesomes out to the hairdresser asap but I need a shower and they have used all the hot water.

Anna, your friends are right, as long as you're getting your internet connection through a cable there's (almost) no way the weather could affect it. See, the cables are all underground, so as long as lightning or wind doesn't strike down the junction-thingy it'll be just fine. And if it had (which did happen to me once), you wouldn't have an internet connection at all, so you couldn't possibly be here complaining about it.

Flashing rear bike lights: forgive me if I'm missing something but I don't get how giving drivers behind me a seizure/migraine makes me safer.

The water bottles (7) and oranges (4) that have been in the office fridge for weeks. Also 2 yoghurts well past their sell-by, and a couple of boxes of cup a soups use by 2011 (they're on the microwave, not in the fridge, but still)
And the fact that the last time I cleared out the fridge (Christmas) I caused a huge row especially from 2 members of staff, both of whom have now left so I can't even go "See? SEE???? I was right! So there!!"

Pastey Posted Oct 9, 2012
There's someone that we share an office with that left an open pot of cream cheese in the fridge, it went *very* mouldy.
I threw it out, but not before taking a photo of it and printing it out. A couple of days later when they complained about "Where's my cheese gone? Who's eaten it?" I handed them the photo and said "It'd gone off and was stinking the kitchen out, clean up after yourself"
The went off in a huff and I've never had to deal with them since

Memories. Not those of the good kind. ... Writing and Publishing class was difficult due to that, and the idiot in front of me who didn't appear to get what I was saying didn't help.
PH: the above.
PH 2: the American's overloud voice and far too many "like"s in a sentence.
PH 3: Zoe puts her hand up, like a meek thing. You shout in this class, hands don't do the job; she needs to either drop the hoarse, breathy, whatever thing or clear her damned throat. It sounds awful, but perhaps she has a cold. (Don't think so). Now in an awful mood.
PH 4: dissertation meeting today... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Hey! I, like, like that word. It's, like, fun to use it as, like, an unnecessary and meaningless form of, like, emphasis. It's, like, amusing. Ya' know?

I hate it when my targets in the assassins guild are already dead, and then they mutter about being killed twice
As my starting line at dinner, this confused quite a few people
