So What brought you all to H2G2?
Bryce Posted Nov 15, 1999
I was over on Alta Vista when I spotted an online translator going by the name Babel Fish ( http://babelfish.altavista.com/ ). Being an avid Hitcher of many years, my curiosity was piqued. The little yellow fish ad on that site led me here. I was delighted to discover that this was the new Guide I'd read about a year or so ago on TDV's site.

I too followed the little yellow fish. I regularly abuse the babel fish- which I was referred to by a fellow D. Adams fan. I am surprised at myself for not suspecting that the net would be a perfect format for an H2G2, but it never crossed my mind.
I plan to stay for as long as H2G2 will have me as a researcher.

Found it by accident, as most great things happen. The Translate icon on our newest pc is a babel fish. My son said,"Look what i found when i typed in babel fish!". Here we are. Well, here I am. He's in here somewhere (as mentioned in parents forum), he's challenged me to find him! I told him that I luv him, but I see him every day. lol
I digress

I came here because I found this link on Internet explorer for the mac software links. It's so booring! I will take this opportunity to say that all mountain gorillas should die immediatly, all 650 of them. I will volunteer to go kill them. Then I will volunteer to help pay for a banner ad that says "650 million of your (human) brothers and sisters are close to exticntion, help save them".
Peace!

I've been a hitchhiker fan for 12 years or so, and my good friend dan was kind enough to show me the site. I've only just registered so thanks dan

And you're failing to do just that, I'm afraid... You're an addict just as well as all of us here, no more and no less

Hey, don't be sad... Maybe it's a good thing to be with others who also all try to be different and fail

I suppose so...
At school they call me a freak. In fact they call Lisa a freak more, but she's a fraud. See my intro on my page for more on this.

A user in another website chat location asked me to see if I could get in to h2g2 as she was not having any joy. So copy and paste and in less than a minute I was in! Once in here I had a lurkers look around and suddenly it dawned on me that here I might possibly get a project underway and published, which had a really l - o - n - g gestation period. So now I am a happy little researcher here... This is a nice cozy warm fuzzy sorta snuggly and comforting place to be...
