What do you all think of the new Brunel skin?

The biggest shame is that this is the first opportunity since, like, FOREVER to discuss something under Design Feedback, and we still all post to Ask h2g2.

I'm just so upset by the idea of a little huddle of sobbing gurus, who were sure that this time someone was going to talk to them.

(The new skin? Better than Alabaster, but not as sensuous as Goo. Then again, I'm a blubber fetishist...)

You can't teach an old dog new tricks and so it's still old Goo for me.

Personally I think Brunel is even more smiley - yuk than Alabaster but each to their own smiley - shrug

I still think the new Scout badge in Brunel looks like that chap is aiming a shotgun at you smiley - yikes

So does this work yet?

smiley - towel

Actually, I was thinking... why does the Scouts badge guys nose seem to be above the binoculars? He must have a very odd looking face!

If you think the green is bad now... you should have seen it before! A horrid olive colour! (yuck!)

smiley - yikesWhere have I been? I've not even had a chance to test the towel smiley yet and they've already brought out a new skin.

I do not like what it's done to my personal space, in fact I hate it. The Personal information needs to be at the top. But I do love what it's done to the entries and forums. I'll use it for a while and see if I can get used to it. It's really too soon for me to say if I like it or not.

Fred, everybody else sees your personal information at the top of your Personal Space.

Ah, I thought they'd changed the colour. It *is* preferable to the colour they used on the test forum right enough.

If you look at somebody else's userpage the personal info *is* at the top, but when you look at your own one you get all the useful bits at the top - good eh?

Am still undecided about it though...

smiley - ok

I love the toolbar for editing entries. It makes things a lot easier when working on GuideML entries.

Hmm... definite misgivings about some of the colors... and I want frames... and the sidebar doesn't work too well 'cause I'm using a portrait-oriented monitor.

Still, definitely some good points, and I'll be playing with it for a while... I like the rearranged home page, although I want my links at the top - I use them as bookmarks...

We'll see smiley - biggrin

More choices can never be bad, though...

Ok so far, but I don't understand what a lot of those comments were about. i'd better go write a guide Entry for a proper test.

I like the green - it is the same as my own website. But it's only green in conversation mode. In entries, it is blue.

The molecule is not a new feature. It has been there for at least a year. I've never bothered to figure out how it works, though.

The tree gadget has been there since pre BBC I think, I turned it on a long time ago, but never really used it properly. I'll have to learn now that a couple of links have disappeared from Postings.

I can't remember how long the tree function has been around... I'm thinking for years because I remember it eventually becoming an *option*. smiley - erm

The Expert Mode (as that tree / molecule thing is officially called) was introduced by Ripley 1.1 on 25 July, 2000 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/hub/Versions-Ripley-1-1 )
