I like the smiley pallet thingy and it is easier to get around on but alabaster will win I'm afraid because I had to wait untill everyone went to lunch to have alook and its a good job I waited.

I like it. It's not as painful to look at as A*******r, and looks a bit more professional than Goo...
The side layout of buttons is nice, but the way that my own personal space has my conversations and then my message center and *then* my actual space kinda freaks me out. Not that I don't mind not having to scroll all the way down for my convos like I did with Goo. But it feels odd after using Goo for 3 years. The green's also kind of an eyesore.
Front page looks *great*, though.
I'm changing over for a bit to see how it works out in long term... more later...

a) I don't like green.
b) The sidebits take up too much space on my Uspace, making the page about ten yards long
c) The order of things at my USpace is not to my liking in Brunel.
I can see why it should appeal to Alabaster users rarther than to the Goo people, as it resembles Alabster rather than Goo.
I'll stick with Goo.

Oh. and Frames. Frames would be lovely.
(though that list of smilies on the posting page is kinda nifty)

I personally view the smiley pallette as an affront to my intelligence.
Although, it would prevent me typing 'biggroin' quite so often

I like it! I like my conversations being at the top, although I miss my handy links at the top. I need to change my bookmarks, they all have classic in them.

I'm using Brunel... and I intend to stick with it.
Just a little hint for those of you that liked the smiley added: try writing/editing an entry in GuideML under Brunel. Those BBC coding bods have been experimenting again!

Oh, I see...
Blimey, you have been busy! Writing a Guide Entry usually requires several cups of coffee and two hours in a locked room for me.

Does anyone know *why* it's called Brunel?
Alabaster = white - makes sense
Goo = bluey goo - makes sense
Brunel = green and maroon riveted panels

It'll never be as good as GuideDog aims to be... but newbies will find it a very handy tool.

Well I can't even get it to work at all in Mozilla, the UPdate button doesn't work
Guess over to the bug report forum.

First impression - I like it, overall. Not sure I won't go back to alabaster, but I'll give it a few days to sink in. Don't much like that shade of green, though.
And that little selection of smileys seems, well, a bit limited. But hey, I'm just nitpicking, as usual. Overall, I like it.
Why "Brunel", particularly? Anyone know?

It's all the rivets isn't it? So it looks like the great big iron things built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
I think that is the theory anyway.

Well they could have given it an iron-plate grey colour. That's what I was expecting. Colourwise, the green and red doesn't seem to make much sense, unless they're the colours of Brunel University or something.
