UH,It aint over until the fat lady sings.
Any way whats so wrong with the germans winning it? surely Brazil winning is just as bad, both these teams have won it far to often for my liking (come on Turkey!)

I basically don´t care whom is winning... but I seriously hope the final is not Germany vs. Turkey.
It´s just that I am not sure what a bunch of happy and a bunch of very sad fans (whoever is which) will do to themselves or the city. No matter who wins, it´s gonna be h*ll...

Ah well despite all the upsets it's those 2 old dependables in the final Brazil and Germany.
Given the current mediocre state of the German team looks like it will be a Brazil win.
Also I think Turkey will pinch 3rd place from South Korea.

so after a promise of a wide open world cup...the same teams that always win it are in the finals

According to the BBC Sport website Germany and Brazil have never met before in the 72-year history of the World Cup! Is this right? Surely not!
I cannot *stand* the way Germany have had such an easy run in. We *know* England are the far superior side (5-1) it's just down to luck in the end. If only Beckham hadn't jumped over that tackle.

That'll be world cup finalists having only conceded one goal in the tournament to date.
God, I'd love to be that mediocre.

I watched the Brazil/Turkey match in a Brazilian restaurant in London. My hearing's only just come back Blimey, those kids know how to enjoy themselves
I hope they thrash the pants off the Germans!

Blue Shark they are mediocre compared to previous German sides, in another thread I did say that I thought defensively they are strong but their midfield is very average when attacking and their strikers have been inconsistent, particularly when compared to their club form in european competitions.
Their solid defense is built on a good back 4 and the 2 central defenders dropping back to support, effectively giving a 6 man defence - whilst this means they dont conceede many it also means that they are understrength in midfield when they then turn defence into attack; hence their general inclination to sit on a 1-0 lead (like Italy).

or 8-0
So they've had an easy run in to the Final?
Wasn't that supposed to be the tougher half of the draw. Maybe if Italy, Spain, Argentina etc. had done what was expected of them then it would not have been so.
Such is life in a knockout tournament. 'tis the way the cookie crumbles.
If they win the world cup noone will remember them as being mediocre.
Ballack has looked pretty damn good and Klose only need one more goal to join Ronaldo on six for a share of the Golden boot.
Having said all that, I still want Brazil to win

And of course Germany have never won the world cup. It was West Germany who won three times previously.
