Robin,

How about the following:

Richard Wright - will be first team keeper at Arsenal by then
Paul Robinson - will either have replaced Martyn at Leeds or moved to where he can get first team football.
Chris Kirkland - will either have pushed Dudek out of the Liverpool team or again will have moved

There are others but these are the best 3 of the younger keepers around.

News about a proposed fouth official:

"Blatter said the fourth official would operate behind the goals, where he could watch incidents in the penalty area, freeing up the assistant referees to concentrate on enforcing the offside rule.

"It was not immediately clear how the official would cover both ends at once."

smiley - laugh Good grief. And these people are in charge. Not a bad idea in general though.

Damn and blast or should that be "Sturm und Drang"?

The Germans have beaten South Korea 1-0 = the fairy story ends here - Normal Service is Resumed !!!!!!

The only saving grace is that Ballck got himself a second yellow and should therefore miss the final.

And more Italian back pedalling - Perugia have now decided to reverse their earlier decision and keep Ahn Jung-Hwan on loan.

Blues Shark - For people who like this sort of thing, then this is just the sort of thing they'll like

I'll put money on a German win now. They are well enough organised at the back not to make the sort of gaffes that England made against Brazil. Everybody has very politely glossed over Beckham and Scholes abject failure to commit to a tackle in the lead up to the first Brazilian goal. Can't see the Germans bottling it like that.
Of course, Turkey may surprise us all, (except the owner of my local Kebab shop smiley - laugh) and beat Brazil yet...

Actually we were noting during the match that Beckham seemed to be jumping over any tackle that came anywhere near him during that match. it's nice to see that someone else noticed.

I thought Perugia might do that. In the end, their initial reaction was...well... a bit (or a lot) childish really.
Would they prefer players who don't try and win matches? smiley - bigeyes

Well, the Italian national; squad is made up of players that don't try and win matches.

I feel sorry for Beckham as well, though. Risk a tackle and aggravating his injury, or hope somebody else would clear up? I thought Scholes had a very average tournament, and no obvious reason why, to be honest.
