Actually, Ringo seems to have cleaned himself up. To wit, the No No song. I saw him perform last summer.
And if DNA's vote must truly come from his U number... ::: walks off whistling to the login page :::

Coren: Can I vote, or not? I wanna know! Was my vote counted, or not?

Lady Scott Posted Aug 3, 2004
Coren, it would appear that our illustrious vote counter has wandered off. He'll be back late tonight (very late most likely, since he lives in that upside down and backwards land of Aussissippi where our days are his nights and our nights are his days ) at which time I would hope he'd provide you with an answer.
Probably won't be the one you want to hear though... He's very stubborn on that one vote per U-number rule.

In all this bickering about DNA's vote, he also seems to have missed Flamestrike's clarification of his vote...
He has a *lot* of matters to clear up when he returns!

"Well I see there other choices than just George Formby (who I have never heard of) and Liv Tyler (who is really, really hot)... So for the sake of argument and because The Princess Bride is one of the BEST movies ever made, I shall say Inigo Montoya!
"My name is Inigo Montoya, you have killed my father, prepare to die!" "
great movie...did you watch it yesterday...?

Polite inquiry of our illustrious returning officer.
er, I've been meaning to ask you why it was that a short while ago the 2 front runners had over 300 odd votes and then suddenly it was 30 something. What was that about? You see when I became Lady Scott's campaign manager I truly believed we had no chance. I'm not complaining - just curious.
And why we're about it; what's with the .5 votes?

my guess is someone early on when everyone was seriously voting said that they couldn't decide and voted for both...
oh and I vote for Lady Scott...

Red - better check who wrote those posts giving certain parties 300 or more votes...
Some of us were having a bit of fun with the numbers at one time, so that may have been what you saw.

thanx Lady Scott. Its ironic because if I thought you really could become the frontrunner, i might have been too scared to start this whole thing in the first place,,

red - The 2 front runners never had over 300 votes. But due to the vagueries of some web browsers (and depending on how you have them set up) it just appeared that way. The total for Liv, for example, showed up as 361/2 on my browser here at wo*k, but at home it appeared as it should have - as 36 and a half. The half vote was cast a long time ago by someone who couldn't decide between Liv or George.
The Gook - "Actually, Ringo seems to have cleaned himself up. To wit, the No No song" - The No, No Song was, ironically, written in the 70s and at the height of his drinking. He (and his wife) went through rehab at least once in the 80s and may have done it again since.

thanx for the info eR. Its all a bit scary being on the brink. I wonder which lucky researcher will put us in the lead. Honestly I never thought Lady Scott had a chance. Why did my browser suddenly show the correct counts then?

It shows correctly now because I changed the totals to read as ".5" instead of the "half" character.
