The youth hostel in Castlefield is pretty nice and modern. There's a sofa/futon/floor space at my place if you can't arrange anything else TRiG - it's only just over an hour away by train.

I've still got the photos of the meet in question, that was a good night!

Virtuous are you on facebook? If you post something on the h2g2c2 wall we can sort out getting the photos added, we're trying to build up at album for meets

Seeing as we've got control of the servers here, we should be able to bring the photos back in house. Within reason

The Ibis are doing rather well out of this meet. If we knew this many were going we could have got a bulk discount.

I will be arriving sometime Friday, what time I land at the hotel depends on whether I need to go over to our Manchester office for a meeting first, or I just take the day off.

I suggested allowing everyone to upload photos once and there was an outcry of 'oh no it'll be awful, people will upload photos of meets and it will be just like facebook'.

Oh yes, and there was something I didn't understand from the tech team about balancing or somat...

Hence the "within reason"

And to be fair, it was being discussed about allowing any old photos to be uploaded, not a photographic record of a meet

And what about those of us who value, and protect, our privacy? Can we opt out of having our image uploaded without permission?
