>>William Franklyn fans can regularly find him reading the quotations on Radio 4's 'Quote, Unquote', should they so wish.<<

Yes, but why would we want to do that? Dreadful, dreadful programme. I'm with Humphrey Littleton, whose castigation of Quote Unqute is second only to his tirades of abuse of the Post Office. Has me in tears on the floor. And why is it that a series of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue seems to last about 3 weeks but QU and Just A Minute last about five years?

I've no idea, but Just a Minute, certainly deserves it.

parrferris,

"Can anyone tell me if it was Franklyn who voiced DM in the pilot episode of 'Dangermouse', though? It certainly sounds like him."

You are not alone in that belief:

"William Franklyn - Voice Of Dangermouse(Pilot Episode Only)"

Sad to say, I never saw an episode of DM. My daughter was too small to work the large remote control of the video, and my wife didn't understand it.

fords,

"Just a Minute over ISIHAC? Ho nonono!"

Yeah, I only listen out of respect for the memory of Peter Jones .... but .... Stephen Fry and Tony Hawks have conspired with Paul Merton to make the show bearable, except for the chairperson.

Felonious Monk - h2g2s very own Bogeyman

I quite like 'the Chairperson', as anybody who can send himself up so much is OK by me. Remember the Renault 5 Nightmare Advert? Or 'Mr. Jolly Lives Next Door' by the Comic Strip, where they set out to assassinate Nicholas Parsons? The man doesn't take himself at all seriously.

What, Nicholas Parsons really is a smug conceited selfsatisfied hoity-toity git??
Surely not!
Actually I can bear JAM but it ain't a patch on ISIHAC.
Curiously the same people turn up as guest team members on the latter - I'm sure Fry, Merton & Hawks have featured, but the real stars are Jeremy Hardy and Bill Bailey, with Sandy Toksvig a close third. Absolutely wonderful and not on the radio enough. Thank god for Radio 7 re-runs, just a shame they overlap with the Archers and I only hear the second half. Any Radio 7 programmers here?!
