That was unnecessary. Are you determined to make a nuisance of yourself, or are you just not particularly skilled at endearing yourself to people?
Whoami?

Actually I tried a number of ways to talk to you people, you shot down everyone... suggest a decisive plan of attack for me to tickle your gray matter. You state your opinions, I will stae mine. This is an open forum.

Yeah - this is an open forum - as long as you're not 'offensive', etc. Here's the official line from http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/HouseRules , which you should have read since you just signed up...
Please, no flaming or trolling. On h2g2, flaming means posting something that's angry and mean-spirited - the online equivalent of flying off the handle. It's not a pretty sight, and we recommend constructive discussion as a far more satisfying pastime. Trolls say deliberately provocative things just to stir up trouble - it's not polite, so please don't do it. h2g2 is an incredibly friendly place, so please help to keep it that way.

Unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable. You'll notice 'profane' in the list here. This means that hardcore swearing is not allowed on h2g2, and if you do swear, an h2g2 Moderator will **** out all except the first and last letters. If you feel compelled to swear, then use the first and last letters and ****'s for the rest. Some swearing - such as quotes from poems or plays in reviews, for example - may be editorially acceptable, but in everyday communication, it is not. All the types of content above break these House Rules. Please don't post it, or you may find we close down your account if you keep breaking the rules.

Well, you asked me to , and I didn't find anything funny up until that point.
It wasn't opposing opinions, as I do not believe I have even gone as far as to state them in full - the reason being as I do not have the full facts of the situation, both historical and current.
The irony of the matter is that you stated that we are 'all stupid' for the very reason that you think that I am ing. Which is, ironic, don't you think

wow, what's going on in here...let's start a new topic. I have an assignment for all of you. I want everyone to name one thing they like about America. Just to make me feel better, that's all. I wanna see where this goes.
I'll start. In America we have free speech as long as it doesn't bring clear and present danger to the public.
Next?

There is already a forum called 'Why should we love Americans?' here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F76594?thread=142278&latest=1
Good things about us (not US)
Goens001 Posted Oct 18, 2001
I like America because we tolerate all religions. We are free to be baptist, catholic, methodist, hindu, budhist, atheist, agnostic, muslim, jewish, even satanic if that's what floats your boat.
One thing I like about Great Britain is the fact that you can speak freely if you're in parliament, and even make jokes if you want. It's a laid back atmosphere and I think it's good to be that way around your opposers and your friends at the same time. I really enjoy watching the British Parliament on CSPAN.

I like the way John Clancy has expanded everyone's vocabulary.

In America, learning is encouraged. Differences are celebrated.

The clear and present danger clause was made known to me personally through the KKK case against a community when they sued for free speech. The KKK had a public access show in a predominately black community where people felt the show threatened their safety. The supreme court said that even though the KKK has a right to free speech, their show presented a clear and present danger to their community.
But that's just me.
To OBL

I'm going to be calm about all of this.
OK - if you start a new topic, you start it in a new forum. That isn't this forum's topic. An 'assignment for [us all]'? OK. Fine.
Now onto your last para -
'I'll start. In America we have free speech as long as it doesn't bring clear and present danger to the public.'
This is a clearly visible hit at the moderation of offensive posts. We have free speech on h2g2 - provided it isn't offending people. Please may I urge you to stop now and go and be nice to some people. You've already had your personal space hidden by consensus amongst the ACEs and the moderators - don't escalate the trouble any further. It's not fun to be drien through the floor by respected members of the community - the community exists to be positive, and we don't like having to deal with negative influences like yourself.
