Hang on, hang on - I'm still working on it. Work just intervened for a moment.

McLellan, if you can hear me, with all your strength, resist the spell and drop the dagger to me!

Won't do much good, Captain. While I appreciate your resolve to win out, you won't. The world is meant to see the rise of Atlantis tonight.

You, sir, and I use the term very very loosely, may be the Devil incarnate, but believe me when I tell you that You shall be defeated one way or another. If you harm any member of my family, you will feel my full wrath. I shall hunt you down like the curr dog you are, if it takes me all my life to do so. But believe me when I say that you will be defeated, by whatever means I have at my disposal. I may seem like a simpleton to you, not knowing all about what goes on around me, and up until a few hours ago, I would have to agree with you. But I have seen things that have opened my eyes, and I believe in more than you can ever imagine. You will die.

YClept, what good will it do for you to raise Atlantis? The world is not ready to see it again. It wouldn't give you any aid that I can see.

*Gillings' second spell works and the white auras fade out.
His third spell also works, and Lizzie gives a brief glow.
Which means she is no good for your purpose, Gillings. I think I understood the spell correctly, but thought I should be clear.
As for Volkert, he has free movement, since the spell sticking people to the floor was aimed only at the occupants. What Volkert sees:
Directly beneath the Captains cabin, are Sarah, the Captain and Lizzie. The Captain and Sarah are close together and a little ways away is Lizzie. In a far corner of the hold, in a direct line from Gillings and Sarah, is the cat. Gillings is standing in front of Sarah, and his daggar is floating above him, just out of reach. It is pointing at him. Gillings is clutching something in his hand. The general atmosphere is one of tension - it looks very much like Gillings is opposing the others. The others seem to be unable to move from where they are standing. Gillings is bleeding from a sword wound and the Captains sword is in his hand and there is blood on the blade. Since Volkert entered from the fore hatch, he is almost the full length of the ship away from the others (the Captain's cabin is near the aft end).
After Gillings' spell, the dagger drops to the deck and embeds itself in the floor, between Sarah and Gillings.*
