The H2G2 Vegetarian Society mourns the death of Douglas Adams. We at the HVS believe that it is impossible to put a value on life, but if it wasn't, Douglas' would be worth a fortune. We will all miss him dearly. (And Douglas--if you're out there--we forgive you for the whole "Meet the Meat" scene in Restaurant. ;-)Come visit the the HVS Virtual Vegetarian Restaurant! It's a vehicle for hosting recipes and socializing. Come check it out!
Announcements
WANTED: News Scout
We, the chairpersons of the H2G2 Vegetarian Society, lead busy lives. For me, Wolfman, there is always studying to put off and partying to do, and Pegasus spends half the day just trying to get her computer to work without crashing. The point I'm making, (and I do have one) is that we really don't have time to go out and look for news about vegetarianism on a regular basis. That doesn't mean there aren't important stories out there that would benefit our members. In order to better serve our members, we are asking for a volunteer to browse the web every so often looking for veg-related news and then email us the links. If you're interested, send us an email. Thanks!
Recipes Wanted!
We're always eager for new vegetarian recipes, and now the Post also wants them. If you know a good one, please let us know. Thanks!
Welcome Message and Joining Instructions
Welcome to the official homepage of the H2G2 Vegetarian Society! This is a place for vegetarians of all sorts to discuss issues and find resourses concerning vegetarianism. The only requirement for official membership is that you are a vegetarian or you are seriously considering becoming one. Everyone who considers themself to be a vegetarian is welcome, from religious vegans to ovo-lactos with moral objections, to people who just don't like the taste of meat, and everything in between. Members will receive a link to their homepage, and there is no obligation to contribute in any particular way. To join, simply leave a message in the forum thread below titled "Join the Team!"
Non-vegetarians are welcome to visit the site and participate in the discussions, but remember, this is veggie territory, and anyone who intentionally insults any of our members will be asked to leave.
Member of the Month
I'm wondering if this was such a good idea after all. I've been so damn busy lately and there's no end in sight! Well, at least I made DD feel special! ;-)

Discussion
We encourage people to discuss anything vegetarian related in the threads, and we will occasionally prompt a specific discussion.
How You Can Help
If you like what you see, there are ways you can help. Besides the obvious, joining, there are other ways you can help us get on our way. Linking to us from your h2g2 homepage would be a great help. Another thing you can do to help is by providing links. If you know a good webpage that is related to vegetarianism, please email us at [email protected] This would be appreciated enormously. Thank you.
Call For Graphics
Thanks to Amy (who I will link to when I get a chance) for providing us with not one but three lovely logos for people to put on their home spaces. We will make them readily avaibale as soon as possible.
We do, however still need a volunteer to design our float for the 2nd Annual h2g2 Annversary Parade. If you're interested, please email us your idea. Thanks!
